We're now watching a pro-weed propaganda film narrated by Woody Harrelson in my Phil 235 (ethics) class. I am struggling not to laugh my ass off.
 
hash bash is sweet, that's not a university sponsored event at all tho, ann arbor is just a ridiculously liberal town.
 
wait so what is the one in ann arbor? hash bash? and is it on april 20 or april 1? april 1 would make no sense
 
1. Half the student population has "recreation" claimed as a major.

2. The RA's are the ones throwing the parties.

3. There is a protest every week in front of the dining hall about how much food they waste.

4. There is a "tribal dress" club, and tons of people go....and you live no where near Africa, nor do you have a large African-American population. In fact, no one in that club is African-Amercian.

5. There are meetings about proper care of dreadlocks (I'm not even lying)
 
They opened a starbucks in the student union building and there have been protests involving smelly dudes and african drumming which offer cups of free fair trade coffee if you don't buy at Starbucks because they "put money before people".
 
the campus po-pos casually talk to a guy who had just finished smoking a joint for 15 minutes and apon leaving, tell him he shouldnt smoke pot.

The campus newspaper is clearly liberal.

Those people are stupid. While Starbucks doesn't necessarily buy "fair trade" coffee, they pay "fair trade" prices for any coffee they buy. Why? Because being certified as a "fair trade" farmer is an expensive process, so Starbucks doesn't feel the need to force their coffee farmers to do it.

I hate Starbucks, but I'll defend them in regards to how they treat their coffee farmers. How they treat their baristas, though, is a whole different story.

Basically, if you're gonna protest stuff, at least be educated enough to not make a complete ass of yourself, ok?

And UBC isn't as bad as SFU, where EVERYTHING gets protested. I'm gonna start protesting protesting it's so fucking bad here.
 
hippies dont fuck around with coffee(hippies drink coffee? I thought that was beatniks). where I went to shcool they were trying to BAN all non-free trade coffee in the entire town.
 
The protest wasn't about how they treat their farmers, it was mostly about encroaching on student business' territory in SUB, since a bunch of the profits from those things go back into undergraduate societies and junk like that and... uh, they're... student... businesses.

I don't actually care, I don't drink coffee anymore.

Here at Western State I have actually seen protests, protesting the amount of protests.

The student news paper has a feature article about a jam-band concert in another state, but can't write an article about a concert on campus.
 
i've been at school for about 10 weeks now and have only met 2 republicans. there are rumors floating around that there are a few more- but we think they're in hiding ;) ahh, to live in the P-N-Dub
 
atleast you guys have people interested in anything enough to stand up for their beliefsat your school. 99% of WLU students are too afriad to answer a question in class becasue they may be wrong. a bunch of fucking tards.

there was a 4week peace camp when the latest war in iraq started, one person from the whole lot of people had something remotely educational/educated to say, and he was a freaking prof. the rest were a bunch of idiot douches who forgot to get educated before protesting. they brought more bad press than good to the protest and the whole point was lost.
 
Nah man, you know you are at a liberal school when one of your professors starts talking about how the last time she tried to blow coke they laughed and it went everywhere and then no one would give her anymore...and then she points to a guy in the front row and says "He was there".
 
yeah in my flexibility and relaxation class last semester my prof told us smoking "certain substances" was a good way to relax. and said that she does it on a regular basis.
 
You know what Ann Coulter needs? Someone to shove a dick up her ass to remove the stick that's been lodged up there for way too long.

To be honest with you, she's kinda sorta cute, and a stuck up super bitchy way.

yup, its a requirement for my program. good times.

the labs were all either yoga or meditation, but class was kinda hard. a bunch of physiology, muscle spindles, all that crap. still a good course.
 
hash bash isn't april 20th, i remember last year it was the same saturday that the final four was being played, 4/20 was on like a wednesday last year.

Fuck that, I'm in no way involved in this school... I'm actually almost conservative for this place. Seriously, it's disgusting sometimes. I take no greater pleasure than in watching my grad-student TA take 5 minutes of ranting to rip the shit out of some hemp-wearing dread-sporting jackass 2nd year poli sci student who thinks he's hot shit spouting off about capitalist exploitation in South Asia. Now THAT was funny.
 
Uh... not really... more like given up on all the idiots, no matter what their political alignment is. The rare conservative idiot pops up, and they tend to be much, much dumber, but the hemp "SUPPORT BUY NOTHING DAY" and lesbian radical feminist group of idiots are infinitely more annoying.

They also ran an old fire hydrant for one of the rep positions that gets into higher faculty meetings, just so we could say we have a fire hydrant sitting next to Martha Piper at meetings... probably do a better job than the actual students anyway. Such pushovers.
