Those people are stupid. While Starbucks doesn't necessarily buy "fair trade" coffee, they pay "fair trade" prices for any coffee they buy. Why? Because being certified as a "fair trade" farmer is an expensive process, so Starbucks doesn't feel the need to force their coffee farmers to do it.
I hate Starbucks, but I'll defend them in regards to how they treat their coffee farmers. How they treat their baristas, though, is a whole different story.
Basically, if you're gonna protest stuff, at least be educated enough to not make a complete ass of yourself, ok?
And UBC isn't as bad as SFU, where EVERYTHING gets protested. I'm gonna start protesting protesting it's so fucking bad here.
