Snowden Traitor or Patriot?

Yeah there were some good giggles. That mofo thinks he's a spy, he is too doughy to be James Bond. Plus he is a dork, last time I checked Bond didn't jerk it front of a computer screen. Who knows though, certainly not me.

This man is as real as it gets. I don't know what you are talking about. He is a TRUE american hero. He should be held up way higher than all of these celebretys who talk in front of a camera. How is what he did bad? Do you not want to know how your govnmt devices you? I sure as hell would want to know.

Patriot. Fuck fox news for labeling him a traitor.

I thought it was funny how the polls changed like within seconds of the interview starting. It was like 65% say he is a traitor, then after like 5 mins it was like 65% say he is a hero.

I just dont get how anyone can think hes a traitor. Our gov. Was ILLEGALLY spying and gathering information on its citizens and he exposed it.

My favorite is asking all the conservatives what they would do in his situation. Shuts them up nice and quick.

i heard somewhere that he did in fact expose a few CIA agents in the field, but honestly, he was just trying to get the truth out there. I dont blame him one bit. more people should be aware of how greasy our government really is.

No way. Our government is 100% good and has never/will never do anything shitty.

patriot 1000%. No question to it whatsoever. Fully showed the importance of privacy, and the need for encryption.

Snowden is a slimy, unpatriotic rat who should be hanged, drawn and quartered for his treachery.

Prove me wrong pussy

protip: you can't

Troll. Not gonna even try until you give me a reason why I should, which you won't, coward.

no need to lump him into one of those two extreme categories. I believe what he did was a good thing for the US and its citizens. He kind of fucked up the big interview on NBC. Maybe he was really nervous but he looked like shit and wasn't nearly as articulate as he was in his previous interviews. The first one he did with the Guardian about a year ago was awesome by the way, as was the german one. recommended

Patriot in mind. Anybody that stands up to our tyrannical government is doing something most don't have the balls to do

Patriot.

How do you expect a constitutional Republic to function if the government doesn't give a shit about its constitution.

^agree with the point about the extremes. Ppl were already pretty sure that the govt listened into shit, and i konda think its ok. Not cool to keep it secret, but if it keeps us from having repeats if the boston bombings every month, im all for it. With refards to snowden, idk hes a bit of a dbag but i guess the government needs to be more transparent

Fight me.

Ps sorry for typos im on mobile

he told americans everything they already knew. whether you knew it or not, the info he leaked was pretty public before. he's retarded and i can't believe he hasn't been assassinated yet

the stuff he has leaked is like 1% of the total stuff he took, there is WAY more that we don't even know about yet

Yea he said that he was going to release some "secret" information that nobody has seen yet. Hopefully it rustles some jimmies.

Snowden is 2 syllables. Your argument is invalid.

That's too bad you were almost on to something really groundbreaking there.

I think this whole thing has shown the REAL political layout of the USA. Republicans think hes a hero, Liberals think hes a hero, Fox news and people on the right in the government think hes a traitor.

Patriot. This dude did what he felt was right, informed the country on things we should know.

American patriots don't grab a few laptops and hard drives of state secrets before making a world tour of countries 'we don't get along with'

Did he expose the governments clandestine spying on American Citizens? Yes. For that he should be applauded.

Did he do so in a 'patriotic' way? Fuck no.

It blows my mind that people didn't already know this is happening. You keep hearing about all these teachers that have sex with students and they pull up the texting records and find everything. When I applied for a job with the federal government, they did a background check on me, and found stuff I didn't even know was possible to find by records. And they're still doing it and they always will always be doing it.

I realize that you're pretty much the skier equivalent of Rick Perry but how would you have done it?

Dude alerted the press, then bailed to countries where he wouldn't be extradited to a cockmeat sandwich in Guantanamo. Seems logical.

Right? lmao like what is he supposed to to, leak the information and then take his consequences in a "patriotic" way...... If he didnt leave the country he would have been dead in 24 hours.

The two of you don't really understand how politics work.

There are wistleblower laws in effect in the United States.

Once he comes out as the guy who leaked it, the US government could not kill him, or jail him outside the United States. That's how people get impeached and/or go to jail. If the guy died for any reason in the USA our government would have been highly suspect, and have the biggest PR nightmare ever on their hands. The public would be calling for their heads. It would be relatively easy to have him die in the Moscow airport and make it look like the Kremlin had gotten all they wanted out of him and was responsible.

There are countries that are not our top two military and economic adversaries where he would have been pretty well protected from extradition. Many SA embassies in DC would have worked, or non NATO European countries. Just because you got the hell out of dodge does not mean you need to take the data with you. Once it goes online, its out there.

I understand the whistleblower laws, and i also realize that even if snowden died in a "car accident" in the US then the government would be highly suspected, but my point really wasnt that he would be dead, i just said that to emphasize the point being that he would not have just lived a normal life and gotten a new job after doing what he just did.

Hanging out in the Moscow airport is not exactly a normal life either.

You don't release thousands of incriminating documents against any .gov, and then go on to live a normal life.

It doesn't matter if he's in an embassy in DC or Moscow. All that he knows is online/in the press. He's just a regular guy now.

A regular guy who is entitled to a regular life, but he won't get it because he'll have Uncle Sam up his ass for the rest of his life because he did the right thing.

Yea I that was essentially my point.

Im glad he did what he did. It takes some balls, to do what you think is right, especially when death is a very plausible outcome.

No doubt in my mind that if he was caught in america that he would be long dead. He would have "vanished" into the "legal" system and never have been heard from again. Kinda like that boston bomber guy.

Are you a fucking idiot? People do not 'disappear' in the US justice system outside of Jason Borne movies.

Turn off the tv and start paying attention to the real world.

People do not, but "terrorists" do.

Read the nice little tag on, that has been in the last 3 military spending bills.

Gawd you are a dense idiot.

The only way Snowden could disapear is if he was outside the U.S. In a country where he could not lawyer the fuck up. Like Russia.
