Snowboarding+skiing

I would like to see more of a collaboration in filming, will that happen in the near future? or do snowboarding companies still want nothing to do w skiing?

actually there is collaboration with snowboard films producers and skiing films producer, like in TBC the absinthe producers filmed at some locations (the utah gaps in mike wilsons part, etc.)and catched the action of skier, and boarders too.(see futureproof)

But skiing + snowboarding in the same movie will hardly happen, because it can be boring for some snowboarder to see skiing action and vice versa.

ya they did a shoot like that in push w/ msp last year for the end of season whistler booter but idk if the combination of snowboarders and skiers would be good for a whole movie

out of curiousity, do most people here ride with snowboarders, or do you stick with skiers. i'd say at least half of the people i regularly ride with are snowboarders. just wonderin..

ya, my crew is like half skiers half snowboarders. thats mainly big mountain though. it really helps riding with snowboarders, they view the terrain differently sometimes, and you can learn from that.

a bit more skiers and some snowboarders. but we both repect each sport, like we like to see snowboard movies and my snowboarder friends like to see skiing movies, etc.

i snowboard and i mainly ride with both skiers and snowboarders and if there is lack of one its because they couldnt get up to the hill, i have nothing agaisnt skiiers i love watching ski movies you can see how skiiers approach something diffenrently and it gives me ideas on how to hit a certain hit. i think riding with just one or the other isnt as fun

i ride with everyone man, im usuallly skiing with a group of like 30ppl at a time, skiers and boarders, training everything

there's some smaller film companies doing it. Maybee they'll start to grow. I really hate in the freeskier mag movies reviews they said that the snowboarders where a downside except for Jeremy Jones who proved that he belongs. I mean come on, how about skiers act a little cockier?

TGR make movies with a good mix of skiers and snowboarders.

I have neva tried snowboarding but i must say that if snowboards were designed to do tricks, they would not have such a wide stance. Besides i reckon tricks look way better on skis than a snowboard

then why have you posted this on a ski-oriented site? Note how it says newschoolers.com up above to the left on the banner and right underneath, skiing's online community..hmm without skiing there would be no newschoolers.com...but i guess there are other forums for snowboarding that you can use...but a ski site is fine lol..

And yes I think they should have more of a mix in some movies, little skiing, little boarding. I always ski with both skiiers and boarders, I have respect for both.

I hated how photoplay had that one snowboard part. I am a skier and I want to see a ski movie. I'd rath see skiing than snowboarding. I don't buy TGR because it has snowboarding.

i love watching snowboarding except when its big mountian lines. For some reason it doesnt seem right to watch a snowboarder rip an AK line

haha i know exactly what you mean. watching boarders rip in the park and bc booters and urban and stuff is good but just not big mountain lines.

i have respect for snowboarding and all but I hate when it's in a ski film. I don't want to watch it. I like the idea, but in reality I just want to watch skiing.

the only snowboarding that i watch for my enjoyment every year is whatever comes out from TGR. they keep the park stuff minimal because imo shit gets repetitive. the big mtn lines are the best part since that kind of riding is all open to the riders' creativity and they have the ability to make a line as technical or as fast as they please. park riding usually turns into watching corked 9 after corked 9.

its probably true that snowboarding wouldnt have been created, but without snowboarding you probably wouldnt be riding on twins right now, you probably wouldnt be wearing stylish baggy clothes, you probably wouldnt be grabbing your skis in all sorts of cool ways etc in someways i like the snowboarding culture more than the skiing except for the fact that i like to ski more. Most of my friends are snowboarders cause most of the skiers i meet are faggots and think there the shit, thats the thing i hate most about skiing and thats why most snowboarders dont like skiers. which is what my friend who is right beside me and a pro snowboarder just told me.

i have a feeling that that they are gonna hype the shit out of that and it wont even be very good. im hoping things turn out but ive just got a bad feeling about it...

yup......i was gunna say that.....

but i like just ski films mostly, i like what some of the snowboarders do in pop yer bottlez

i ride with boarders almost every time i go, all my friends board and its a lot of fun. switching gear is fun too, get a little of both. still a hardcore skier... but its fun to get a little variety

'tis the spice of life. I love snowboarding although I ski way more, I think it gives another dimension to skiing, gives you more ways to look at the mountain.

The reason this will not happen very much is that skiers go way bigger then boarders, its not an opinion its a fact, we go twice as high in the pipe, have way sicker pow lines, and have more variety of tricks. What it comes down to is that snowboarders are somewhat jealous of skiers, and they don't want to be showed up by them in vids.

this is true. i ride with snowboarders adn taht is about it.. most of the skiers i know just piss me off. there aer some cool ones but most of them think they are the shit just because twin tips arent the most popular thing out there.

^ahaha sick im glad im not the only one that feels this way... some skiers are okay, like im sure your a cool dude, but i think its those skiers who make 'crews' with eachother so they think there super cool

I ride with way more snowboarders than skiers. I really like watching snowboard films, they are fun to watch and snowboarders get mad creative with rails and jibs and stuff. I prefere ski movies because its what I do, but I don't see a whole lot of difference between them (these days). I do snowboard occasionally (switch with a snowboarder) and it is always a good time, we tend to progress mad fast switching like that.

I'm an ex-snowboarder, skied 5 years, then snowboarded for 9 years and now I'm on my second year of skiing again. So yea I've heard and seen it all. Now I actually only ski with snowboarders, the crowd I grew up with, so I can't really see it any other way.
