Snow Watch 07/08

Everybody been enjoying the pow.... Some good stuff going on in the cascades. Laps around stevens have been sick.

alpental was pretty nice yesterday, i havent really skied it much before, but chair 2 opened up, so some of those first couple of tracks were sick as hell. it was kinda funny though seeing those people gettin stuck all the way down tho. hahaha i swear i saw some guy hiking out underneath of chair 2 for like an hour and a half.

I forgot how heavy alpental snow is, and how bumpy it is. Shit. would it be possible for people to ski in a stright line? not at alpental. Oh and supposably dan treadway was there today.

And snoqualmies jumps are actualy nice.

This weekend is looking good. Sunday morning and Monday morning should be really good powder days.

Enjoy

Can anyone give me a ride to snoqualmie/alpetnal tommorrow!!!??? my ride ditched out and i want to go skiing

I just got back from Snoqualmie, where the roads became a show off competition of who's the worst driver in the state. Unreal what I saw driving up there today, a guy unable to slow down his Jeep Liberty without sliding all over the off-ramp. Almost got hit about 3 times on the drive back home. Anyways, on to the good news, just checked the forecast for the remainder of the weekend...looking well, good.

HEllo, Once again I need a ride to the snoqualmie tomorrow, i will help pay for gas,

Please reply, or PM me, I hate to no ski during winter break

Thank you!

You will love it there man. I just got home from my trip there and it took us 9 hours to get there with horrible conditions and damn Canadian drivers suck ass and are stupid as fuck. Saw a guy passing people in shoulder in a blizzard and he tried to pass a cop too. Cop turns on lights to stop him, what does he do? Passes him anyways and gets pulled over.

But they got some amazingly light snow there and a decent park.

you fucks better stop complaining about driving conditions, try 15 hours Whistler-Seattle, leaving the best storm in whistler in a long ass time, with a broken leg. yeah I am fucking bitter.

that sucks man. ya, i would be pretty bitter too. and i know this sounds retarded, but i want it to stop snowing already, cause i want to get in a couple of blue bird days this season too! how am i supposed to film if its always snowing all the time!

So, tomorrow. I know I'm going up to enjoy the three feet of fresh from today and tonights accumulation under cloudy and then clear sky. I'd love to save on gas, so anyone wanna carpool? We can use my car, but as I dont have ski racks, it can only fit 3, 4 at most.

Traffic looks shitty on Stevens right now.... Avy control on the westside, Maybe Ol faithful slid. Screw weekends and the warrior's that ski em.

Fuck... Bluebird pow and I'm not skiing. I almost got written up last week at work so I didn't like my chances calling in. Hiking tomorrow if everything pans out. Happy mofo newYEAR.

Seriously, fuck today. Chest deep snow down the backside, shit got all up in my face and crap, I couldn't see in some spots and that was dangerous. Also, fuck skiing untracked trees in the same amount of snow. Fuck the blue skies, made everything too fucking pretty, and fuck Grant and peeps hiking from Tye. Jesus Grant, you had to gay it up with that switch 5 off the cliff, didnt you? Fuck this deep snow shit, seriously.

Man I was loving the backside too. Cept when I ate shit off a cliff and had to dig for skis and attempt to put them on in chest deep snow. I also ate shit real bad when i jumped off a mugul into a real steep terrain and hit an unseen lip at full speet, flew 30 feet inverted and barely avoided slamming into a giant log protruding across the terrain. My buddies said they thought I was gonna die but instead I landed in a tree well and thanked god that I was alive.

All in all though, PHENOMENAL day.

You guys bootpack roostercomb or cowboy for me tomorrow? I still havn't heard off hours of operation though.

Happy New Years

3 days of skiing the deepest, lightest snow i can remember in this state... and i got paid for two of em. beat that schuckas. oh yeah, pontoons go really fast.

hahahahahahahahaa

you made me pee a little when you said baker's pow was dry yesterday.

next week looks good my friend.

Parking lots are full every weekend now by 11:00 at stevens. I just have to state this again fuck weekends the weekdays is were it's at.

they were making people park in the god damn xc skiing lot 5 miles down the road today. so fuckin busy. weekends suck nuts

at Stevens backside whats the ridge called thats skiers right above Gemini? it goes from the powerline crossing away from Hollywood Bowl and eventually picks up a trail heading back to Jupiter/So.Cross lifts?

So ready for this weekend. Prolly gonna miss Sat tho since the Hawks are in the playoffs yknow. I got some brand new Head Mojo 90 186s that should be here anyday and cannot wait to tear it up on those this weekend. It was interesting rockin a pair of 172cm urban triplets down at Hood this past weekend in 2 feet of powder.

On a side note the GF decides she wants to go up with me and my friends this weekend... I told her to bring a friend so I can do my own thing with these conditions and my new skis that I gotta put to the test haha

Hmmm...snow accumulation could be pretty decent...is anyone going up Wednesday around 10:45-11ish? I'll chip in gas money!!

For some mysterious reason, Sunday wasn't half bad.

There was a window for a couple of hours where the light was excellent, and the park was empty, and the jumps were delicious.

After lunch that all changed, but the point being the best park of the day was not spoiled in the slightest.

But the west lots were full before 10am, so that's a bit ominous.
