Snow Watch 07/08

Holy TITS it puked on Baker all day. 14in from last night, and we were still getting some freshies on our last runs. It was a blizzard, unfortunately, this warm front...

I think so, but if battery operated foot heaters will keep her skiing instead of complaining, whatever, its her money and her law firms salary.

Mmm today was sweet at Baker. A fucking zoo, no doubt. Poor sam/rest of food service, you guys looked packed. Not digging the crowds at baker so far though, although Kyle, Jaime (sp?) Brian and I had some nice powder. Oh yeah my brother too.

no doubt baker was legit today, but ive only been up there a couple of times and it would be sick if next time i could ride with a local or somthing, and see some sick stashes or sesh somthing good.

all in all though i had fun, i mean who couldnt!

This morning was really great! best day i have had yet this season, other than almost getting blown off the lift when the wind caught my skis ... funny when we got to the top the ski patrol was yelling, "get the fuck off the lift, now !!!! " great day !

damn, stevens has their lights on, so you can really see it coming down! but its already raining at white pass, so itll soon come to an end :(

you should go up chair one then ski down below it then traverse left of the run named "the chute" then duck a rope and ignore all of the signs about cliffs and stuff then point it

This is what kills me:

Stevens looks nice right now, opening day with little crowd and sunny skies. I would kill to be up there right now.

Got to up to Crystal today.

It was my first time, and I was pretty blown away with the level of some of the terrain up there. Definitely worth going back later in the year, when they have a lot more snow and everything open.

Caught a bit of the vibe though, and it sucks to say the least. Uptight patrollers and lift ops, weird stuff man.

Yeah, I've gotten screamed at by a patroller for skiing in a glade up there. Great BC makes it worth it though, and I really wanna explore the Northback this season sometime.

I nearly freaked out because of the people on the lift, but it must be employee training or something.

Hope they open this week.

Half an inch of unexpected snow this morning made Stevens not so icy today. We do need more tho, Big Chief looked... rocky?

And it may just be from riding pow skis all last season, but Lib Tech wavy edges actually do seem to cut in and hold better. A little strange going switch since they grip so much, and holy fuck, so stiff you can ollie like a foot and a half off anything. I really will need to demo a pair of Rossi's to really make a meaningful comparison.

Skied Mt. Hood for the last 5 days. Pure ice. Hell of a way to start the season. Beat up from rails and not skiing for months. I just saw the forecast for the weekend, it will be sooo nice to get back to Stevens. Lets hope my legs can handle deep powder after 5 days straight to start the season...
