Snow Watch 05/06

So um... anybody that WASN'T up today.... kinda makes me want to weep for you.

I went all the way to school for an hour of class, went home and headed straight up to alpental for 20 inches of new snow and almost nobody there.

Can honestly say that was the first time skiing upper international UNTRACKED, oh my god, intense. Snake Dance was closed, so that was balls, everywhere was just so nice it didn't matter. Bowl was amazing, the gutter (felsen I believe its called) was oh jesus god, AMAZING.

And then I came home and went to work! Busy day!

I left JUST as the pass was closed westbound, right about 2pm. Not even sure if it's opened back up yet or not! yikes!

Road was solid snow all the way down to North Bend!

oh man, another 13" overnight, and its totally bluebird up there at alpental.

TODAY is the day to be up, fucking school :(

seriously, I should NOT be at school right now, this is bullshit. These are senior level college courses, WHO TAKES ATTENDANCE?!?!?!?

i duuuunnnnnnnnnooooooo should i go today? 5:15am 32 degrees at baker. humm by 11 what u think 34-35 and rain?

yeah, it wasnt that cold. I was driving home from school, at like 10ish, and it was just pouring rain, then the drops started leaving little bits on my windshield, and then it was just DUMPING (not sticking) but it turned back into rain pretty quick.

yeah it was! I left work at 10, and it felt like leaving work in the summer, i wanted to play frisbee.

felt at least 65 (i'm sure it was like 50, or less, but still)

thursday is looking to be quite grand, and since itll be a thursday, itll be even more grand, because nobody will be enjoying the grandness.

Nope. I was gonna go up for another epic thursday, but alas I have an exam, d'oh!

Due to this anticipated weather, Chair 6 will not be operating tomorrow and depending on visibility, some other lifts may have to close early. The Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center is calling for 30-50mph winds with about 10-12 inches of snow falling during the day tomorrow. Reduced prices will be in effect and dependent on which lifts are running.

The Terrain Parks and Halfpipe will be closed tomorrow.

Tonight... Snow showers... Heavy at times. Windy. Snow accumulation of 8 to 14 inches. Total accumulation of 18 inches to 2 feet. Snow level 1000 feet. West wind in the passes 20 to 30 mph.
