Snow Watch 05/06

holly shit!!! the webcams are amaizing!!! can't wait for math class to get done, so sean and i can go up der and play!!!

So rumor at my school(mount si)is that snocompton is aiming for an opening date of this wednesday, dont know if its true peeps are just talkin about it.

snocompton? what the hell, haven't heard that one yet.

the forcast temps just keep dropping, and i'm not used to seeing that big of blobs on the snow forcast picture.

It was raining/snowing at snoqualmie this afternoon/evening, but as soon as you gained any elevation from the pass it was NICE snow. We went way up over by whatever that road is by the Hyak exit (sno-park or whatever).

Skied all over, lots of towing, hurt a girls knee..... what a fun night!

it was snowing at like 2 at snoqualmie today when i was up there....and at alpental the snow was much better.

Our night (one of the best).....

Found lots of nice deep deep snow up in them thar hills:

But we got hungry, so we went and got some corndogs:

Then we picked up the girls and headed back up to the top where the deep snow was. But we managed (or kevin managed) to get NICE and stuck (granted, the snow was about 2 feet deep). Luckily we had our trusty snowblades to dig us out:

Kevy like snow, kevy like ski:

Cindy says "DAAAAMMMN its cold!"

So megan decides (or we decide for her) that she'd like to try skiing..... it took 2 people to strap her in:

Few seconds later.... not sure how she ended up like this...

Seaners like snow, seaners like ski

Also, officially I had the BEST ski run of my life this evening, me and Cindy skied from the top almost all the way down the road (until there was no more snow). It was so long, and when we would get ahead of Kevin and Megan in the car, it was pitch black, except for the eerie glow of the snow. Best night ever.

Tomorrow is gonna be epic.

On my way to whistler for the winter from montana and have never ridden in washington...which area will be the best next weekend?

I was jsut up at baker for employee training and it was SOOOO nice... so much snow, so much powder, so much winter... I loved it even if I didn't get to skee...

just got back from crystal (early, i know... we left at like 2, it was cold and we were tired)

It was so fun though. Lots of untracked, heavy as it was (although it really wasn't that heavy, my skis are just too small). Just felt great to ski!

^me and snowsnowsnow saw your car, but couldnt find you. dude, did you guys hit high campbell? a whole run of faceshots made epic my fat skis. it was amazing

that last sentence made no sense whatsoever^^^. but yes, we saw your car but never saw you.....i think you guys just wanted to look cool so you drove up tehre and chilled in the lodge all day :)

wow theres a very large beam of light at stevens pass right now.....not quite sure what it is, check the webcam......i would say its the cats grooming, but that would be like 100 cats.......maybe its gods way of telling us we are hooly

yeah we spent about 3 hours of lunch in the lodge.

We wanted to go up High Campbell, but when it finally opened the line was LONG, and it looked pretty windy up there, so we just stayed on Queens Run all day!!!!!!!

at the end we did a few runs over by quicksilver or whatever it is, cause nobody was over there. doing 3's off nothing, things like that. VERY dangerous high speed under kevin skiing (me going under him)

You guys eat at the new lodge?

You know the burritos they have there? They are from the same people that supply Taco Del Mar with their food. Hella good if the people making it aren't being morons.

yeah i was really mad that i didn't bring my pollards. seeing how it was the second day of the season for them, i thought it was gonna be rocky, so i brought my rock skis. theys is skinny as hell, so i wasn't having the most fun in some of the powder i went in

we were at the bottom lodge, a burrite would've been so good, dammit.

And yeah, rock skis were not necessary.

yeah yeah yeah, ok we get it!!!!

should have waited teh 30mins to go up to high canbell.

but hey looks like snoqualmie is doin pretty good snow wise!

You guys all hear about Snoqualmie? Closed from North Bend to Easton, big rock slide up near the lake. Closed until at LEAST tomorrow.

can't wait till I skee on friday... havn't decided if I'm skipping school on tues or not... but mainly because I don't have a car and I have to find a find a ride and I don't know many people up here yet... but oh the snow looks good... OVER 7 FEET!!!!!!

TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY

RAIN OR SNOW...HEAVY AT TIMES...AND WINDY. SNOW LEVEL 7000 FEET.

what the hell!? and than by the weekend snow levels should be back down around 2500 feet. i don't like warming trends even if they are only for a couple days

I should give everything a nice base though, let it melt alittle, condense down, refreeze...

Less avalanche danger for sure

ah it'll be fine. they changed the 7000 ft snow level to only wednsday night and thursday, and took away the hard at times....plus its completely dumping the white stuff at stevens right now.

i was very worried about it last night, but im feeling better now

its nice to see giant flakie-poo's in the webcam images, and lots of freshies on the roof. i was up there yesterday and was hiking up to my waist, the coverage was better than it was all of last season, it ruled. plus they got a trapazoid box, a flat down box and a flat box, soo much fun
