i reckon you should put in backslides/ frontslides they could be the left and right arrow keys i dunno bout ps4 also ollies are so floaty

Even if they look weird, you can do backslides on PS4. Don't know about PC, but if you slide right foot forward, press R1 and push the right stick towards the right side.

The ski pass thing has dropped the Steam rating from ~77% to around 40-45% and it looks like it's going down still. I haven't played in a few weeks because of that but it sounds like a bunch of glitches are also popping up too. Really suck wang the way it's turning out.

lol so is this game dead? the menus dont even work

We're aware of an issue on PS4 with the menu selection. If you use the d-pad the menus will work fine. We're looking to fix this in the next few weeks with a patch.

We knew that the addition of Ski Passes would be unpopular for many old players, and that our Steam ratings would take a hit.

Ultimately we needed to do something that would help us continue to finance the game's development. We're only 6 developers and have no publisher backing us, so we need to make the game a profitable (or at least break even) business. If we can't do that, there's now way to pay salaries and thus no more game to play.

Ski Passes are actually a great way to play the levels you love. For a tiny price you can play exactly the mountain you want to play while you're active in the game. If you're a hardcore fan and want to access all the levels at all time, you can get an all access pass for a huge discount. When we release new levels, they're no longer going to be so expensive and hopefully thanks to ski passes (and swag bags) players can access these levels even easier, enjoying more of the content that we've been working so hard on.

Hopefully the community slowly understands our decisions and change their knee-jerk reviews back to positive. We're trying to build the best skiing game ever, but need the support of our community to keep going.

?

you’ve had the support of the community? But you’be been killing that support little by little?

Im stoked to explore winter ridge this game is awesome and way better than a $100+ for all the dlc steep the rails are gnarly as hell

I just bought this game and it fucking crashed on me within the first 5 minutes hahaha awesome

I also love that I paid $20 for a "free to play" game, LOL, jokes on me, don't spend it all on weed @SNOW

We're aware of a few graphical, stability, and overall performance issues with the PS4 version of the game. These issues came with the upgrade of the game engine and many were not appearing when we tested the build prior to launch. We are working through issues and hope to have a few issues fixed soon.

I understand the need to get money for development, but you've left essentially no other option to players except monthly micro-transactions. I've already paid for the game early in its development and you gave nothing to your early supporters.

I bought Steep a few weeks ago and havent had an urge to play Snow since. Shame.

If you paid for founders pack or similar then you should have the all-access pass or similar - what you get depends how early you supported.

You don't have to do continuous microtransactions, there are options to get all maps with a one-off purchase if you don't have somethign via what I said above.

Hoping that they are able to get funding from this new funding structure to afford more development on some physics, animations etc- improving the gameplay to make all this worth it.

What we chose to support is very different from what we have now, I think that is a major complaint. We saw the promises and what looked like it would finally be a great ski game and this is what we got. I bought in before the game was available and you only get an all access pass for eighty-something odd days.

Here are my issues with the current build:

1. I can huck a quad backflip over 100+ feet. land nose heavy and ride a way, but the second I clip a bit of a rock or a post I'll dub eject and have to restart. The precise movements needed to avoid obstacles and the lack of precise controls takes away from the fun aspect. I'd rather just do a tumble and be able to get back up quickly.

2. Stop making levels, I get it, you make money off of them, but I've never played a beta that had so many levels with a lack of focus on mechanics. The maps do look nice, textures and such are spot on. With that said, I personally don't get bored of playing the same map when the game is good. How many hours do you think kids have put into rust? Or hell even just gnarshmallow levels. I don't know how many hours I've logged on ssx on tour, but it's got to be a shit load (granted they have a long ass map).

3. Again, I get that you need to make money, but I'd say that you are going about it the wrong way, as stated before the way you do it alienates the community. Instead make a super enjoyable game (again work on mechanics) first to build a good base of people interested in playing it, then work on all the other shit that you can charge for. What will be next? Paying for grabs? As an example, look at shredsauce, more people probably play it than your game (no offence), it looks shit and is super basic, but the controls are better than the ones that you guys offer. Why do you think it has a bigger following? How do you plan on increasing yours given the amount of negativity you are receiving? Loaded questions, but just something to think about.

Yeah I bought in early too, been given a lifetime pass - all maps and addons forever - maybe check what they have given you; or what level you bought? (I don't work for SNOW or have any involvement beyond being a player and early supporter.

I agree with point 1 - the landings are way too forgiving sometimes, then the bails too savage with smaller stuff - I like STEEP's G-force way of doing things, and the way you go unbalanced for a while.

Agree that they should focus on the core mechanics - but they also need to do the maps to fund the development, Totally agree a shit map with excellent gameplay you can play for hours (demo level on the original SKATE springs to mind). I've brought this up on the Discord chat (which is open to all) and they are aware of people's desire to improve the physics, animations etc; but said they need to fund the development.

I'm disappointed in how long it has taken and how slow the changes in the core mechanics have been also; but do also understand where they are coming from.

Totally agree with above post ^

Also it would be nice to be able to fine-tune turn when holding crouch (to jump). It's really frustrating that I can't crouch and steer at the same time. Like what the guy above said, make a game that's really enjoyable to play first, then start releasing banger content. I've made several attempts to learn and enjoy the game with no success. The game crashed three times in my first day. I appreciate that you guys are trying to fix it but the game didn't hook me to begin with unfortunately.

Hey, I know this thread is pretty dead, but can you add a way to skip the tutorial? It's super annoying to come back after a couple months and have to run through it again.

This.

Also I just bought the PS4 Pro and transferred all my data from my old PS4, and I hadn't played SNOW since february and I realized that I lost all my progression in the game...

funny how after all these years of development, effort and hype that Shredsauce has still prevailed over Snow as the better/more popular ski game without losing a majority of their player base, or incorporated shitty micro transactions.

Not to mention you guys have 6 developers and Malcom started making shredsause in his dorm room.

Oh and shredsauce is actually free.

Shredsauce prevails alot because of it's user driven content. Almost every map, grab, and gear is made by a user, and I think that's what draws it.

I play shredsauce on my pc with a controller and with the customizability and the fact that it actually has fun physics it is still the best skiing game I’ve ever played

Yo. Good work guys! As someone who originally purchased a Starter Pack on PC back in 2014 I talked a lot of shit on your discord when you went to the weekly map rotation. Props for turning shit around and keeping the game alive and making me eat some of my words. Keep up the good work! I love SNOW and love seeing new maps!

they got rid of multiplayer so i’d say it’s safe to say snow is all but dead at this point

I never played multiplayer really but its still fun to play the singleplayer sometimes

Hahahah just fired up my PS4 for the first time in a hot sec and saw this game. What an utter flaming dumpster fire this whole ordeal was. Wonder how much $$$ was lost in the process...
