SNOW: freeride/freestyle skiing game

Is there a way to swap cleanly? Just popping and 180ing on rails looks weird and half of the time you end up off the rail anyway. Also will nollies and ollies get added at some point? Game is a hell of a lot of fun other than that. It's perfect for when you miss skiing.
 
I gotta give it to you guys, I'm super stoked about this update. The last one was horrible and buggy, almost unplayable, but this one nailed it. Speed is back to normal, rails are smooth, and the overall experience is much better. This is AWESOME

The fullscreen bug was with the new update. I'm finding it runs better in windowed for me anyway so I'm just gonna keep it. It could be my display driver as well because I'm on a dual monitor setup and stuff gets a little buggy sometimes.

0.6.2 is out! This means that you can now play MULTIPLAYER together on our dedicated servers. We've also improved a bunch of other things and added a new Castle area to Sialia. Check out the full list of changes here.

Please keep in mind that multiplayer is still a WIP and we are constantly fixing bugs to make it run smoother. If you're having issues, check the Steam forum or Subreddit for answers.

really like the update, game keeps getting bigger and better. I like how it feels like a full mountain now where you can cruise the whole way down trails or go off the trails and hit other stuff.

Rails got a lot better but not perfect yet. It locks on quicker and easier which helps.

I logged into multiplayer but couldnt find anyone on the mountain in the few minutes i played.

Now we just need this on ps4 because being precise while playing with a keyboard or half ass PS controller is almost impossible.

Any ideas about when the ps4 version will come out?

you can check who's on the server by holding down TAB and you can spawn on other players by selecting the "player" face in the drop point menu.

Ive seen other people (rtych on there) but the game crashes and jams frequently in multiplayer so far. I'm also getting a strange effect sometimes on restarts - its acting like a key is stuck and I'm launched into a random direction when I first jump. Usually crashes so fast that I have to restart anyways :(
 
Thanks for the update guys. I ran into an issue where it said level undefined when I leveled up to 18. Just thought I'd give you a heads up. Keep up the good work!

We've made a bunch of improvements to MP in the last few days, so you should keep coming back and trying it out. Hopefully most of the crashes are now gone...

Did it occur after ending a session with a lot of score?
 
you probably already know this, but there is an issue with landing/ speed where if you land more than a 45 from straight down the hill your player just kind of takes off sideways with an unrealistic amount of speed and the turning controls kind of change to being more rigid until you crash jump or reset.

Seriously though bootcamp takes a couple of hours to setup max, and then you can run it fine.

Multiplayer is pretty good poppermost, but it really does crash a LOT. I lost at least 15,000 score over a couple hours of playing. I get probably 15 fps lower in mp on the same settings, but that is to be expected at this stage. Another quip is the huge nametags are quite annoying, they block up big parts of the screen and are too obtrusive. Some little text with a backdrop would be enough IMO.

Overall great! I will report back once I get some more playtime.

If he's running a macbook pro he can't.

Doesn't work on integrated graphics, won't even boot.

you dont seem to understand that most macs don't have any discrete graphics, which makes it close to impossible to run this game.

Yes, but saying "it doesnt work because mac" is completely false. I run the game on a macbook pro and get 50fps + on mid-high settings. If he had said "I can't run it because integrated graphics" that would be different.

We're working on the crashes. Strange your FPS is lower - that shouldn't happen. But might be a bug on our end. You can turn off names with "M", but we did improve them this weekend.
 
I've signed up for beta for like 9 months now. Although I received an email said the closed beta was live and codes will be sent in a couple of weeks. But I've never received the code.

Is the queue this long? Or you just don't need more people?

So if I crash right now in multiplayer holding a key, I restart with the game still getting that signal. If I lincoln safety into the ground off a booter, when I restart I can ski normally until jumping - then the dude goes into a lincoln safety upon release, without my fingers anywhere near the keys now. Restarting again does not fix the problem. Game crashes withing about a minute of this happening too :( frequent and bad. Every server.

If you hit the same key combo while in the air and release before landing (not crashing) it corrects itself. Yeah, the game crashing happens about every 2 minutes for me, had to stop from it being too frequent.

I said I couldn't PLAY the game, meaning my macbook legit cannot run this game well enough for me to be able to play it.

You guys REALLLLY need to get rid of the wind up mechanic. Please. Ever since it was introduced I have only been able to play this game for 10 or 20 minutes at a time until I just get frustrated by how glitchy it makes EVERYTHING. It also prevents you from making fine adjustments in aiming for rails and jumps, prevents you from carving into tricks, and just absolutely RUINS this game. Please get rid of it. its not realistic. People dont even really wind up for doubles in real life. Its stupid. It doesnt make sense. It fucks up the game.

Look. its not the worst thing. Its cool some of the time, but unless these guys can completely overhaul it I say get rid of it. All I want to do is to be able to carve into tricks and actually aim my rails without having to aim it way ahead of time to give me time to pop. As it is right now whenever I wind something up the character either makes it to 900 before I hit the ground or completely glitches out and spins like 1000 times while crouching up and down. It sucks. Im ok if they make it mellower so it doesnt matter that much, but I just want to be able to flow tricks and not have to worry about how much im winding up and where im aiming and how long I have to hold space bar. Its dumb. I just want the game to be fun. not impossible... It was TONS of fun before the windup thing got added. I could sesh this game for hours and not get tired of it. Now it sucks. I open it up once a month or so, play it a bit to see if anythings changed, get bored, and give up.

This is a bug with the feature that occurs if you don't let go of jump before entering the air. Loading up spins is a game mechanic that encourages you to plan ahead and stops players for performing massive spins of small jumps. If you're hitting a rail, don't feel the need to wind up so much before the lip (unless you're going for a 630+), simply pop just before you reach the jump.
