SNOW: freeride/freestyle skiing game

hahaha so people with a free OS can play but Mac users can't? This amuses me.

But then when I think about it it does make sense, since mac is the over branded slightly more advanced cousin of linux.

(linuxfags - when I say more advanced I mean the OS only. I have backtrack, I know what kinda shit you can run on linux that you can't on any other)

I would, support the company and the developers to make the game better as it goes on and giving them 15 bucks is an even more of an incentive for them to keep going.

you're an idiot and can hardly type out coherent sentences. Take your hate elsewhere. SNOW, is great, you probably just blow at playing it.

Don't blame the devs. Theres a lot, and I mean a lot of tweaking that needs to happen if youre going to port something as complicated as a game engine to mac. The fact that they have linux support is a step in the right direction.

People always say how much they would buy a ski game in a heartbeat if a good one came out, and then when it does they arnt willing to drop money on it.

Sure the game still needs tweaking but its the closest thing a skiing game will ever get to skate, at least in the next couple years.

Not sure if you can help with this but I cant play it in full screen and there is no option to go to fullscreen. What should I do??

This new update is bad ass... The pre-wind looks amazing. Rails are still sketchy, it seems like some rails are pretty smooth while some I will fall right through-especially on the Fochi course. Also, speed is really hard to keep while riding switch, it seems like I can never clear the jumps while doing switch tricks. Keep up the good work guys, the game is coming along nicely.

Yeah some input I would add is figuring out how to maintain speed for jumps. Even when I'm holding my tuck to the last possible second I still manage to case it. Is the space bar or the combination of the up and down arrow the better way to jump or does it not matter? It seems like right when I get to where the trail meets the lip of the jump I lose about 20 in speed

Don't get me wrong, I love this game to death, but- You really need to work on optimization.

I have a pretty nice laptop that's only a year and a half old and this game is quite cumbersome on it. It frequently becomes unresponsive and I have to crtl+alt+delete out and end the task. I've been playing it since launch but the issue hasn't gotten any better. I run on sys_spec 1 and no shadows.

I'm pretty sure I have a better laptop than the average person, so I worry that this will be a widespread problem upon release.

You probably would have been able to play it fine before the most recent update, but in all honesty the majority of your problem is your laptop. The game is still in Alpha development pretty much so if you aren't running it either on a laptop spec'd out for gaming (which it doesn't seem like you are) or a desktop with something other than a stock graphics card (preferably like $100 and up if you were to buy a new card) you're going to have a hard time running it. All I can say is either switch to a PC since upgrading a graphics card on a laptop is damn near open heart surgery, or wait for the next update and hope it fixes it.

For the hell of it though I'll ask, what kind of laptop are you using?

i have a fancyschmancy dual card sli laptop that plays AC IV on top specs just fine, boggs down on Snow. fuck off with the "it's your computer" crap

Dell XPS 14z from a couple years back with an nvidia graphics card. Don't know specs off the top of my head. It's certainly not spec'd for gaming, but my beef is that SNOW is literally the only thing it has ever had trouble running.

I've played so many other high end games on this comp fine.

If you're having performance issues the best fix right now is to disable particle effects in the "visuals" options menu. Particles are really expensive so disabling them should help a bunch. That being said, we totally know that we need to optimize the game more - even notice that on my PC at the office!

New update coming next week with a new level (fochi-style)...

no, fochi - we created a map based on the sochi couse during the olympics. Smaller, standalone level based on the real thing.

This week we're launching another level in the same format...

Have quarterpipes/halfpipes been fixed yet? If not, then this is pretty unlikely, although the timing does seem to be perfect.

Nice! Only problem I'm finding is not enough speed to clear it but it's probably just me, I'm playing with a controller for the first time and it feels really smooth! I like it better than the keyboard honestly. Great job with the quick/frequent updates guys!

^^gnnnneeeee i just switched back from windows playing snow to mac....gonna have to switch again hehe gotta check this!

Btw we NEED a different key for butters and prespin (i like shift for pre spin) cos when you pre spin right now it butters too and when you butter it pre spins. Annoying. (and why can you only pre spin for spins and not for backflip front flip and lincolns?? I liked it a lot when you could, you could throw down, but still realistic, please bring it back!!!)

Is it just me or is it super hard to actually get air in the JO invitational??? And rewind doesn't work anymore, so hopefully SNOW will patch it soon. Oh and are you guys planning on adding character customization as in hair and stuff later??? Awesome game so far

it is glitched to all hell for me. almost unplayable

Same here. Your game is killing my PC. I have a HD 7870 + FX 6300 and it has a really hard time running the game even without particle effects. And it'd be nice if the prewind was changed to like it was in the last update. Keep it up

please just get rid of pre spins. Also its impossible to clear any jump in the new update. This has gone from a really fun game to nearly unplayable.

Also something that would be really good in the future, would be a big park that you guys just add on to maybe, with tons of rails and creative setup sand features. It'd be sick to have a big park to slay
