SNOW: freeride/freestyle skiing game

Hey Poppermost! The game is running a hell of a lot smoother now than it did for me before.

One (kinda big) problem for me is that my character is really fucked up and I can't see a lot. Might be due to me not having played in about 6 months so old skins or something? I have no clue but here are some screenshots of in game. I tried changing clothes and stuff but these didn't work.

Hope you can help!

please update them again to be safe - we have seen this issue before and every time it's fixed by updating gfx drivers :)

Is it just coming down to me using an integrated card?

I didnt think this game was still going on, but I watched that edit it looks sick! Do i have to buy it on steam or is there a free version out at this point?

Is that what is recommended for a graphics driver update? I suppose you could try it, I'm not sure what harm it would do. It's not working for you now, so I would go for it.

Also, as I am running the game smoothly on a 2011 MacBook Pro, would anyone like me to go through the process of running SNOW through BootCamp on a Mac? Like a tutorial? I can't guarantee results would be the same for everyone, but I know I got it working fine.

What graphics card have you got? Ive got a 2011 Macbook pro and its has a 384MB graphics card, does your have that and run smoothly? If so, a tutorial would be sick

If you could make a vid or something for a tutorial on this it would be 100% appreciated and 10/10 karma

It's an upgraded 15". It has an AMD Radeon 6750M, with 1024 MB VRAM. It's possible you could run it, I'm not sure. I can get my Mac to run Crysis and Crysis 2 on max settings, and with faster FPS using a handy application known as the Razer Game Booster. It's free and awesome. Try it for everything.

RIP .squirrely.

Yessss i can finally play! Thanks for fixing it guys. Tons better in the new update. Pov view is so sick now.

Will Snow ever be supported on integrated graphics cards?

I can run Skyrim on a medium setting so surely Snow wouldn't be a problem? I have an Intel hd graphics 3000.

How do you do the update on your windows 8 laptop. I just did all the normal updates and nothing and just downloaded stream how do you update that?

To my knowledge, Steam auto-updates itself every time you login. Is it not doing this automatically?

I'm Windows 7 64-bit

if you're having trouble installing your driver updates, that's unfortunately something I can't really help with. I'd recommend to google the error message it's giving you and seeing if you can find a solution... sorry

Made a little edit last night, figured id share...this game is so fun

apparently my parents are getting me a computer so my dad can have mine. here are the basic specs of one i am looking at HERE

-Intel Core i5 4200U (1.60GHz)

-8GB Memory

-AMD Radeon R7 M265

-Windows 8

will this be sufficient to run SNOW on mid level graphics?

definitely, you could probably go higher than mid level with those specs.

the other one im looking at ($180 more expensive) has these specs

Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ 2.4 GHz

NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M 2 GB DDR3

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM

im a real computer noob in terms of hardware and shit but google has revealed the 740m and the radeon arent much different. i know the i7 will be much faster and the 8gb of ram is excellent. thoughts on this instead?

Both will easily handle snow, my computer is about 1/10 as good and can run it fine.

The nvidia card has twice the video memory which means exponentially increased processing speed. Anything higher than 8 GB of ram should be reserved for those who do some serious multi tasking and graphically intensive work, so 8gb is perfect. And of course the i7 is going to be way faster than the i5, not to mention they both have a program which automatically increase their power under high load.

In short, the i7 computer is much more value for the money but both will do what you want and then some.

sorry.. your message got lost in a bunch of others at the same time.

Unfortunately we cannot say if integrated gfx cards will ever be supported. CryENGINE requires quite a bit of power and as far as we know they are not looking to make it support integrated cards. We can do a lot of optimization, but at the end of the day we can only go so far...

Some people are playing SNOW on integrated cards though, so it might still work...

the video i posted is me using a i5 processor with a integrated video card and 8gb of memory. It runs perfectly smooth on medium and even a little higher

http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R7-M265-vs-GeForce-GT-740M comparison between your two options, gpu wise. they look like they about just the same in terms of performance. having more vram helps, but is not everything when it comes to gpu performance.
