SNOW: freeride/freestyle skiing game

holy fuckkk dude that looks so beautiful, and to whoever asked about a beta it's announced that there will be an alpha sometime later this year we just gotta wait, they've been really good with keeping us updated though
 
That is unbelievable. The only thing I would say is that it looks a bit strange as he doesn't seem to set before leaving the lip. It might look ok for a 180 but if its a double or something more tech its going to look a little unnatural. I'm sure how you'd make the distinction though, perhaps part of the controls would be the need to set if you wanted to spin/flip quickly, sort of like the way the 'compose' button works if you've ever played FIFA (gives you a better shot on goal if you have time to use it)
 
yea i was thinkin the same thing ^^^

gameplay looks great, esp the graphics but just have the guy set first (like in youriding)

It should be a easy thing to do and will make it look a lot more real. Im sure you have to hold a direction button prior to jumping so make the animation happen then.
 
Love the camera, hope you'll work on the animations a bit though. It looks sick though, and I won't complain about a free game.
 
Looks great but its been in the development stage for ever...

They should of done crowd funding with kick starters or indigogo
 
And they had a huge crew of people who had been in the game forever, with the money to outsource whatever they want...

I'd actually recommend BootCamp which comes free with every Mac. I have a Macbook Pro and use BootCamp to test SNOW when I'm not at my PC. It works great.
 
I've got a feeling the wipeouts are going to be halarious like YouRiding,

Debbie Downer, here. The tail grab seven....he's looking over the wrong shoulder and it's really irksome. I thought it looked good, but something seemed way off. Thought it was the lack of pre-spin/set, but then I noticed the problem was you can't spin left and look right. Just doesn't work, and that's why it looks so mechanical. Please fix!
 
im sure there's options to grab the other ski with the tail grab, he just spun the wrong way lol. Same thing happens in shredsauce haha
 
the reason why he looking over the wrong shoulder is because he is looking for his grab. what they should do is have him look for his grab, make the grab then turn and look whatever way he is spinning
 
you don't look for a grab, especially when you're spinning the opp direction, period. That would be the standard side for a tail grab in a left spin, trailing blunt. You look where you're going, not where you've been, you find grabs through feel, not spotting. Through the whole trick the skier is looking over his right shoulder, literally craning his neck while spinning left and it looks like shit, sorry. Not sure why everyone needs to defend and justify it, did you animate it personally?
 
LISTEN UP KIDS...At least we are getting an insane freeskiing game that is similar to the games coming out today which cost millions to develop...also this game will be free! FREE!! This game will be tons of fun and you are bitching about the way the skier looks at a grab...FUCKING RIDICULOUS!! If you don't wanna play a game that screws up a grab than you be a stubborn little fucker and don't play it!!

Shit looks whack, sorry! If you're going to spend years developing a game with elaborate textures, sponsors, animations, trick names, etc. etc., how hard is it to get a small thing right? It looks awkward, and getting the details wrong hurts the overall experience and finished product. I want a great game. So should you. I bet you I'm not the only person to notice, and I bet you the developers aren't being butthurt little bitches like your gerber soft self.

Here's where you and all your kin get it wrong: it's alright to find fault and criticize. SNOW has solicited advice time and time again, this is a simple fix, and it SHOULD be fixed.
 
Yup constructive criticism is never a bad thing, and SNOW seems like a team that wants it. If you are giving advice, dont be a dick about it. end of story.

Yes, we are totally aware that he is looking in the wrong direction. We appreciate the feedback and already have this on our list. To solve this issue, we would either have to animate every grab with different head positions OR create some tech that rotates the head based on the spin direction.

We are going to go with the latter option as it is more dynamic and take less time than animating every grab multiple times.

And yes, we will add "SW" to any switch-based tricks.
 
You guys are so cool. You accept tweaks upon the game, and do your best to implement them. You are going to have a very supportive and happy fanbase upon the release.
