SNOW: freeride/freestyle skiing game

I don't get why this comment is downvoted. They are making a dope skiing game for free and people are complaining though.

the entire game is set in a massive open-world mountain environment. You will have both piste and backcountry to explore. The piste (and some hidden areas) will contain ample terrain parks.

..........I almost feel like this is a troll or very smart marketing tactic. That being take an old product and change a few textures to be a new game.

This is just a revamp of Freak Out - Extreme Freeride from what I've seen.

Some of the cinematic shows textures from the exact, original game.

Some of it is scarily similar.

I won't believe this is anything more than a knockoff until I play it and can tell the difference in the physics.

With that said I'll be really sad if that is the case.

I don't think that it would be a bad thing.

I have played Freak Out so much since I started freeskiing and it's hands down the best ski game to date. I would love to see it refreshed with new textures/levels/andwhatnot.

They look pretty different to me.

May I ask what you know about game development, particularly a large scale game such as this, and also what you know about being an indie developer with a team who has at most 3-4 people working on it? Especially when some of those team members are holding down full time jobs, and can only work on this part time?

I think unless you have been in their exact same situation, you do not get to berate and criticize them about release dates. I would think most people would be happy they are providing monthly updates and screenshots, rather than going completely silent like other similar projects. (JibLife)

Basically what he said.

We are a small team dedicated to making this game. Game development, especially development of a game of this size, is a long and slow process. We are doing what we can with the resources we have and try to keep you guys in the loop as best as possible.

We are glad that some of the community enjoys seeing new screenshots and are patient when it comes to more tangible content.

Well thanks to your updates and the SNOW forums I know what's up with you guys, so when things like this are said I can properly back you guys up. :)

We can officially announce that the feature built for the Tanner Hall Invitational this weekend will be a playable event in SNOW. Check out the jump rendered in-game in the poster below.

can't wait till this is finished, looks amazing. shame I only have a mac, but I will probably port it to mac myself. sure it won't be as optimised, but it should still work

okay so lets take freakout extremem freeride, change textures a bit, make new environment. And take forever to release it?

Yeah, I hate it when people try to make a skiing game for free. Like, what are they thinking? They can't take their time to make it. They should release it one year after they started and I dare them to not make it good.

I like that feeling of switch ups and backflips also gives you a feeling of what the trick looks like
