Snoqualmie/Alpental Thread

Yeah, I have to say everything is pretty good now. Not too shabby. I'm lovin the rail garden at the bottom. The only complaint I can make is why didn't they make this setup sooner!

Sunday was fun and shitty all in the same day. I thought it would be overly crowded because of Easter, but from about 8 to around noon it was perfect. The visibility was crap though. The snow, soggy and sticky. It felt like skiing on mashed potatos. Even after straight-lining from all the way up to from the first jump (on the 4 jump line), I didn't even have enough speed to clear the lip of the step up... that's right, none of this "not enough speed to clear the gap" busines, we're talking not enough speed to clear the damn lip!

Rail set up is sick though.

I ended up hitting my head towards the end of the day on the bottom jump. I overrotated a five and the new snow just held on to my skis and I pendelumed onto my head. Was luckily wearing a helment. Guess I'll be out for a while.

Who was that one guy on PEs that I met up with towards the end of my day. Are you in here?

What the helllll

Does anyone know why they are only open till 5pm tomorrow? tuesday night is always my skiing night. Damn it,.

Like I said the snow was heavy and wet, so it wouldn't have made any difference. Besides, the snow over at alpental gets tracked out so fast I'd rather just kick it at Central and find some hidden stashes in places no one goes to.

anyone who skied park today has lostr my respect, haha, just kidding, ima park rat too....but i mean come on 2 feet on basically the first day of april,,,EPIC

that is all

Damn! I was gonna go night skiing tonight but I just saw there it closes at 4 for the rest of the year. O well, I dont have class on Tuesdays and Fridays so I'll be there those days for sure now. Then just after school when I can. Man I hate this time of year. Yes, wakeskating is getting closer, but I don't want skiing to end!

^it ends for me. winter ends=skiing ends. summer=stackin chips and warm weather. not worth time, money and energy to ski during summer.

ahhviously skiing is sick but in the summer when it gets warm nothin beats chillin, swimming, barbeques and warm weather

only days i get off arent ones i feel like blowin hella cheese on gas and lift ticket to hood. summer is time to put in work with the women not the bro shreds ya dig?

Ding ding ding

I don't feel like driving all the way down to hood for 4 random rails, and a couple jumps in the public park.

summer skiing is fun about once a month. go hike up some mt and ski down.

the rest of the time is for working, chilling, hiking and rock climbing.

Jesus fucking shit I overshot the hell out of the step up today. The conditions were the best ever. It was like 47 degrees, but the snow was the fastest I've ever ridden. I did just wax my skis, but it wasn't that warm weather snow, it was really nice. Really sunny and just perfect. But, Anyway. So everyone knows how 2 weeks ago the step up was barely clearable, right? Yeah, same. So I bomb from the top, as fast as I can with my Pipe Cleaners, and pop really hard off the step up.......................I soared so fucking far it wasn't ever funny. I thought I was going to die. The only thing I could think of was the guy who went like 150ft and sued Snoq. I mean it wasn't that far, but rediculous. I somehow rode away because of some skills I didn't even know I had, and as far as I can tell just have some bruised heels. I could see my divets from my skis for the rest of the day, and they were about 3/4 down the landing. I was only with my dad, but he said I soared like 15ft above the knuckle as I flew over it. So fucking stupid. I wish my friends weren't being fags and would actually ski so I coulda gotten it on tape, but o well.

But the park is really nice aside from a little flat landings. Still really fun, and the warm weather after all the new snow over the weekend has made it warm and soft, without slush. So nice. It's supposed to snow/rain a bit but we'll see.

i did the exact same thing, landing about 3/4th down, where you can see the last slop of the landing...

it wasnt even that fast of snow. i flew and ate shit. my right leg is all bruised still and first time i saw my toe pieces vertically release. i broke one of my poles too.

too add to it, i was in my all out gaper suit.. hhahahahaha

scary and funny at the same time!

jesus christ, do you guys ever inspect shit before you hit it??? you deserve to get hurt.

Features and snow conditions are ever changing, the speed of the snow can change from run to run.

So trusting what you remember about a jump from two weeks ago is about the dumbest thing you could ever do.

Be careful, you don't want to earn the nickname "Kenny"

well it was really variable that day, like it changed every min. i had cased the jump before and started a few feet higher then before. it was just a weird day. i guess i should have been not hitting been hitting it since it was a bad day

I just went for it first run cuz its the most baller shit you can do. Mind you, I did stomp the shit out of it somehow, and got about 100 "Holy Shit!!!"s from everyone on the mountain. It was retarded, but whatever. I didn't think there were big consequences on a 20ft step up jump. Although I did develop some weird heart palpitation/can't breathe thing and am gong to get a cardioechogram, but I'm pretty sure that started earlier in the day. Just coincidence.

also whats with you guys straight lining form the top of the jump line then speed checking right before the jump and loosing all your speed?

that pissess me off so much!

(claim) i never do that and almost never case any jump (claim), and then all these loser kids do it and ask me why they cased and i tell them that they speed checked and then they get defensive and are like Nuuu-huuuhhh. and in my mind i say to my self YESSSS YOU DID.... but never actually say it because people get sensitive.
