Speaking from personal experience, get used to the weirdness that is leaning forward and driving the skis. On a snowboard, you can get away with way more as far as where your weight is, and how well you can subsequently ride the board. I know that on steep things, I put a lot more weight on my back leg to hold a solid edge and keep my board's nose from folding/hooking in rough snow. The hardest challenge for me when I switched was telling myself that I had to be leaned forward to stay in control and not fight the skis.
