SLVSH

Tough one since you can't hear the sniper 2 for Matej with the slo mo, but he was gunna handle that game no matter what. Really tough matchup for Sizzla first round

Feel like zahner was the misfit in this svlsh cup and is more of an insta skier...

I was honestly hoping for some rail wizardry with insane 3 swaps from zahner but he got screwed over on jumps. Excited for ferdi's game

Really tough round for Sizzla, when Matej went on that run I thought that was it

fr, i thought sam was gonna be way more consistent but just seemed off

Legit just an off day, like on an average day his warmup runs consist of 2p2s on rails and cork 9s and stuff, genuinely shocked at how inconsistent he was

What fucking game was Cottie watching…

Both skiing like shit here but if it’s the day i think it was visibility was pretty bad, we need a rematch!

Only reason I stated it like that is because I believe the rest of the field has been on fis circuit or some formal version of competing if I'm not mistaken. It's like if you threw KeeganKil in instead. Sam I feel like would fit in on a one vs one, said and done or one of the massive games or somewhere like grandvalira hella rails. You also wouldn have double the players. 8 is a tight ship

He's been good in comps tho, performed well enough to get another dew tour invite, and he's been on SLVSH before years ago and performed way better then despite being a better skier now. It was just an off day, Matej also didn't look like himself either really.

Also I was saying it's insulting because he's a street skier who has been putting out parts for the last decade. You can find them by going to the videos tab of this website and sorting by highest rated and setting the filter to "all time" lol.

So, by your logic if there were more competitors & match ups, Zahner would have done better against Matej?

looked like a crap day, low light sucks. Zahner wouldn’t be on Jiberish if he sucked. Also Keegan would likely hold up pretty decent in a game of slvsh

I don't want to live in a world where every non FIS skier is considered an instaskier.

this has nothing to do with the current tournament but I want to see a will Wesson vs andreas hatveit rail only game.

I don’t think will Wesson is fumbling any tricks in a slvsh game.. would be a helluva 20+ minute game

Good game between Cody and Tormond. Like seeing revenge letters being given, always the sign of a heater game. Any cork 5 lead mute looks so good.

Cody did great at getting the momentum back. I thought it wouldn’t be competitive based off the first few letters

I feel that the games are good, but the parks kinda boring. I feel like its the same features over and over again. I get every park cant be unique but still.

Exactly what I was thinking. I feel like the park setup can make or break slvsh games

The snowmass park is barely setup even right now. They would typically have more features that are also more challenging. 60 and 80 foot jump line is just now being built. I wish they had everything fully setup in time because snowmass really does usually have much more. I just hope they havent filmed finals yet because I think they will have more open quite soon.

Full setup would've been cool to see I agree. I'd be very surprised if the tournament isn't finished given the time it takes to edit the videos and the schedule they're on to wrap up before XGames next weekend.

At first when I found out SLVSH was partnering with Xgames my dumb ass thought the matches would take place on the slope course. Obviously that's not feasible but all these games have been great imo. I get it the park isn't where it usually would be at this time of year but it still looks so sick to me.

The sauce on Ferdi's un lip,sw in his final set got me fired up. Dope to see them use some of the other features in the park too, good game

A couple of the guys were in the world cup in Laax over the weekend so I'm guessing the whole tournament was filmed in 2 or 3 days early last week

cant say I agreed with the call on Tristan's F4 out, wasn't shifty at 270 like he called and like ferdi actually did but ferdi ended up taking it home anyways. good game too

Interesting game, I feel like the sets have had to get so specific because there just isnt a ton of variety in the setup at snowmass. Respect to Cody and Kuura for trying stuff they didnt look comfy with. also my bracket is toast

Cody rlly heard kuura say he'd never done tips under 2 before and proceeded to call them every time he had the set lmao. also having a game finish on a set that the offensive skier barely lands sucks. rlly was hoping for that kuura v Matej final so I'm choked. plus kuura getting that knuckle huck spot would have been nuts

He was shook about what Kuura might do.

Its a competition, the point is to win, not do tricks your opponent can do, especially with money and a xgames event on the line.

honestly. if kuura decided to be an asshole and call tricks only he could do it would have been game in 5 laps. saw it briefly when he was behind two letters and immediately handed Cody 4 letters in 4 tries.

lmao almost forgot when Cody got the set back and started talking shit about sliding a rail... "NO TAPS"

come on man. Slvsh has always been about the vibes and sense of camaraderie between the riders... yes you are playing a game with the objective to win, but in almost every other game the riders have never taken advantage of each others weak points. think of how many times you hear them ask the opponent if a trick is chill. a game that comes to mind is Ferdi v Aleksander at gradvalira last year. realistically Ferdi could have won in five laps, but he stayed calling tricks that weren't unfair to Aleks and the vid ended up being like 12 mins. and it ruled

If its a normal game, sure whatever but this is a slvsh cup.

Every slvsh cup has been competitive and dudes like you always whine because their favorite skier lost. Its a competition with competitive skiers going for a prize and glory, do you think simon dumont and tanner hall told each other what new tricks they were doing at the top of the xgames halfpipe? this is a serious event.

idk if you actually read the last comment I made, but that Ferdi game was in a Slvsh cup as well. the whole point of Slvsh and the reason all of us like it is because it is a more friendly, fun way to have a competition that gets to show the riders going ham in a more comfortable environment. would you be happy if we started having bibs in Slvsh cups? or made it a rule that they have to ride with poles and spin both ways? if you want pure competition, watch world cups. if you enjoy watching your favourite pros ski with their homies and have some friendly competition watch Slvsh. the two should not be viewed with the same mindset.

Sometimes things aren't exactly how you want them to be, sorry man.

It's SLVSH cup in conjunction with XGames dude not just a couple random games of SLVSH. They're actively competing for something very tangible here. No one wants to see people in bibs, but to your point, imagine SLVSH never had the Jiberish made ref jerseys. If they were to suddenly have given the ref a jersey this year would you be bitching? No one's pushing for more rules or anything, but just be glad XGames is giving SLVSH a helping hand and helping keep this thing going.

SLVSH is about the vibes. You aren't wrong at all, but this isn't SLVSH, this is X games. X games has NEVER been about comradary, the dudes are friends but they are not playing to their friends strengths, they want medals. Don't get it twisted, Cody is on red bull and they will give him a pretty penny for winning an X games event, he would be genuinely stupid to play nice in this circumstance. Props to him for having a deeper bag of tricks and I personally loved the game.

I get where you're coming from with all this, but this was also the sickest game imo.

I was stoked to see all those weird tricks no one usually does. It's so sick Cody has all those bizarre things consistently enough to do em in SLVSH, and where else is a nosebutter 1 going to come in handy? Both way tips under 2s is the illest thing I've seen in a long time. The switch cork 3 blunt from the other game is something I've never seen anyone do. That's pretty rare these days. Also if anyone could adapt to that shit it would be Kuura among a few others so in a way they were risky calls.
