SLVSH

Crazy match up with Cody and Kuura. Loved the creative trick calling. Nose butter 1 was a wild finish

Anyone else confused as to how this was considered a nosebud 1? Angle was hard to tell if Cody got up onto his noses and lifted tails but it really just looked like a tokyo drift 180

Cody pretty much stated the NB1 could be loose. It’s also not a nose press so no need to lift the tails.

Also a bit confused, maybe I missed something but where was the trivia crack switch over? I’ll have to give it a rewatch

SLVSH is about the vibes. You aren't wrong at all, but this isn't SLVSH, this is X games. X games has NEVER been about comradary, the dudes are friends but they are not playing to their friends strengths, they want medals. Don't get it twisted, Cody is on red bull and they will give him a pretty penny for winning an X games event, he would be genuinely stupid to play nice in this circumstance. Props to him for having a deeper bag of tricks and I personally loved the game.

I know that this is a more rewarding Slvsh cup due to the prize, and I did definitely expect to see some competitiveness. I guess what rubs me the wrong way is that out of the five letters for kuura, two of them were from the tips under twos and one was from a nose butter 1 that wasn't a nose butter and was barely landed. I would have nothing to complain about if all five letters were different tricks, but just racking up letters on variations of a trick that you know your opponent has no experience with is kinda low and doesn't rlly show off a "deep bag". maybe they should have a rule that the same trick can't be set twice or something idk

Cody didn't actually butter any of his nose butters. All reverts

This isn't just a Cody thing (he is for sure guilty) it's a slvsh thing. I have never really seen anyone call butter and actually press their noses in a game.

both riders had the opportunity to set so even if 3 letters were given trivia crack doesn't apply

Kuura also tried shit that only he is really consistent at, idk I didn't think anything was bad. I like kuura way more than I like Cody and still kinda failing to see how he played like a dick, 2 letters on one type of trick isn't toxic, and the butter 180 was the refs decision not his so you can't blame him for that lol

I'm kinda torn on this. I get that they were playing to win and that there are stakes. I definitely wouldn't call it toxic. But it's a bit dirty to do a trick 4(?) times that your opponent doesn't have experience with. I think it's valid because it's a competition but I personally have more appreciation for when someone wins with a more diverse variety of tricks.

Okay…am I the only one who noticed that kuuras switch tale butter 7 was perfect but Cody clearly dragged his tales in the middle of his on the second go? Kind of a loose call to me considering it was immediately obvious on the side angle they had. Regardless tho, this was the best game so far considering the fairly simple park setup, these last two games should be super fun to watch leading up to the big show!

Hot take the judging in the Matej vs Ferdi game was good imo. I agree that it was pretty harsh on offence and relatively loose on defence but it stayed very consistent throughout the game between both skiers. Great skiing from Matej and ferdi, hands down best game in the cup so far.

DAMN. Ferdi Matej game is def a top5 slvsh game in my opinion, screamin semen sw front flip was nutty. Shoutout zahner for a helluva reffed game, buncha difficult calls that were called proper

All time game for sure, definitely one of the best ever. And I thought Zahner did an excellent job judging, very consistent with good reasoning on calls.

lip on fast slide b2? I could never

no question it was a sick game, but i def feel robbed after kuura losing his matchup, ferdi getting out in semis and now having 2 skiers that were predicted to do well in this anyway, doing well in it.

For sure one of the best slvsh games ever. Absolutely ridiculous tricks being set and matched. The games that are more single trick focused rather than long lines are so much more enjoyable imo. Big fan of zahners judging too. Kept it consistent, held reasonably high standards, and offered solid explanations for all his decisions. Should be a good finals

on the plus side we now get to watch Matej fuck up Cody for what he did to kuura

matej and ferdi had maybe the best game I've ever seen. I couldn't believe it when Ferdi got that sw frontflip. so many incredible tricks/moments

What is an “awkward slide”? Ferdi called against kurra

you have to write a note to your middle school crush and give it to your friend to give to them before zeeching the fuck out of a rail

Interesting to see how the format works live with 4 games running simultaneously, could get very confusing trying to keep up with it all.

the format is a bit slow but how can you not enjoy watching all the homies out there

The first rounds were definitely a bit stilted, but they do seem to be going along better now. The part I thought they'd struggle with was the graphics but they're pretty much perfect, even got side-by-side going for the replays.

Live SLVSH is dope, def moving slow so it’s good to see they have a plan to end it because it can go on forever.

Here’s a thought: how about 3 skiers per game instead of 2. That way you’d have 3 guys all playing each other, 3 ladies playing each other, and it might fill the time slot pretty well having 2 less athletes. And if they want to do medals, you’d have a 1st 2nd and 3rd. Do qualifiers to get into it. Boom. It would take some tweaking on how letters are given in a 3 person game, but I think it could be figured out.

Woodsy is a fantastic live anouncer, as expected. Woodsy and Tom living up to the level of Luke Van Valen imo.

Seemed like they wanted to keep Max & Jesper playing but got shutdown to go into OT so they made up that rule on the spot. If the resort closes and the games tied it resumes the next day, understand it's a different circumstance but the trivia crack made Max lose the game.

Still really enjoyed the live format, hope to see it again with the option to go into OT.

I like it, pig and horse is usually played with 4 or 5 people anyways

How fucked would they be if Andy Parry or Will Wesson was their opponent and got to set the trick first?

Will Wesson has been in some games hasnt he?

I'd love to see Wesson vs Mitch Brower
