SLVSH

Finn has the blunts and dubs on a tinny jump down, Colby has every rail trick in the book down and a huge bag of tricks on jumps.

Colby all the way.

I expect this at the end of every ski video and I'm always disappointed when they don't. Get it together boys

maybe Gus and B-mack could play a game and make it happen

Lol no one is beating vinny. He can match every traditional trick and then if he needs to get a letter he can just throw some nutty venom grab or some shit haha

Colby i would like to formally apologize because you are a fucking mad man. That was such an awesome game

Wtf was up with Woodsy, hands down the worst judging I've ever seen him do. There is calling it loose and then there is not even getting the trick. Neither five swap should have counted and lots of question grabs from both guys. Also isn't the whole point of trivia crack to make sure that nobody can win a game without the other person having a chance to set? Since Vinnie started off setting the and had already got colby 3 letters Woodsy should have never given him the set back.

That was one of the greatest games of all time. Insane sets, and Colby laced up so many ridiculous tricks. Despite the few questionable calls, it was great to see both skiers trying to actively push the other, instead of setting a complex rail line and hoping the other catches an edge.

Also, can someone explain the double trivia crack? I definitely thought that was wrong, Colby should've kept the set since the rule is there to make sure both skiers have a chance to set.

I 100% agree not sure why this is getting down voted

I believe in the "Trivia Crack" game, it's 3 in a row regardless of where you are in the game. So, if they're taking "Trivia Crack Rules" literally, then the set did indeed need to return to Vinny.

Awesome game, but yeah reffing was debatable at times. I can understand why Vinnie's hug grab doesn't count, but then that sw cork 9 stale from Colby should definitely not have counted either, it wasn't even close, I was a bit shocked at that decision. Unfortunate but good game nonetheless.

The way trivia crack works is that it gives both players a chance to set, without disadvantaging the person who won Rock Paper Scissors. So Vinny$ goes up 3 on Colby, Colby fires back with 3, and then since nobody had fallen on either set it goes back to Vinny$. If it didn’t change back to him then Colby could’ve just ran him up all 5 letters like it’s nothing and there was basically no point in vinny$ ever having the set/winning rock paper scissor.

Double trivia crack makes sense because if it wasn't in place, losing rock paper scissors would arguably be a strategic play. In this case Vinny gave Colby 3 straight letters after Colby lost RPS. After being forced to give up the set so that Vinny could 5-0 Colby, Colby proceeded to give Vinny 3 straight letters. Without Trivia Crack on both sides, Colby could have foreseeably given Vinny 5 straight letters to win 5-3.

From Vinny's perspective, you'd have to feel hard done by the fact that you lost the set because of a rule to protect the loser of RPS, not because you fell on a call, and then proceeded to lose. Without Trivia Crack for both sides, losing RPS and then going down 3-0 before becoming a savage could be a risky strategy with high reward.

I'd like to see someone consistently be able to lose at RPS...

That was a real good game but there were some questionable calls. Colby’s 5 swap didn’t even touch the rail, while it looked like Vinnie at least made contact

Definitely had some questionable calls, I have a problem with the logic of "both were sketch so give it to both so its even" because it still benefits the setter cuz they get to keep the set. like colby obviously didn't do it in that case but i wouldnt have given it to vinnie either and he got to keep the set

People saying that there were a few questionable calls is pretty funny... if the result was the other way around there would be an absolute uproar that Vinny won, but since it's Colby that took the win, everyone seems chill with it?

Fucked up good game, however I think that was Woodsys worst reffing, vinny didnt get the 5 swap at all, colby slid literally 2" of it, and colbys trailing stale didnt ever happen, and then a few loose ones. Regardless insanely good game.

I think the bad calls were mostly in Vinny's favour and Colby still won so there's not really a lot to get upset about

So Colby missing the rail on the 5 swap, missing the stale and getting away with a loose dub lead mute while Vinny got penalised for that hug grab were in his favour?

Vinnie barely hit the end of the rail on his five swap and slid off the side which should not have counted so it's irrelevant that Colby missed it. Also colby definitely got the dub lead mute although he had to fumble for it, pause the video if you don't believe me. He really put up an incredible defense against Vinnies unusual tricks

Other way around iirc. Colby didn’t slide, Vinnie slid a lil

Vinny's 5 swap was pretty much identical to Colby's backslide 3 swap to backslide which was deemed as good, so that shouldn't have counted either? I mean if you want to count your wrist touching the ski as a grab then yeah he definitely got it.

I'm not bashing on Colby or anything, it was a really good game to watch and super creative one of the more fun ones of the tournament. Just pointing out that a lot of newschoolers' seem to ignore the bullshit calls when it's for the skier they prefer.

I mean I understand your logic but why doesn’t BATB (or any game of skate) call nat/unnat? They just say front or back if they want to spin. It would be pretty fucked for someone to look at the opponent, realize he can’t backside 360 for example and say “do an unnatural 360” like no. Just say front or back side...

Nah vinny pretty much just did a 5 to the side of the rail and didnt even finish it on one ski, Colby got it cause he literally backslid the last 2" of rail, neither shouldve been good, but whateva.

What about the switch lip 2 to backslide? (at 3') Colby's right foot is touching the rail at the end (you can hear it if you play the video with headphones on). Shouldn't that have been Colby's first letter?

SLVSH doesn’t need stricter rules it needs bigger screens

This is doable, there should be more than one way to make an ipad into a monitor for a gopro. I remember a guy in my school did this when he put a gopro under his skateboard, and viewed the clips on his ipad inbetween runs.

Ferdi didn't get that sw 5050 on the rainbow. Just saying.

But sick game overall. Not stoked to go back to once a week.

Great tournament so far. The ONLY thing I have to complain about. is the fact that we have been seeing pretty much the same few features the whole tournament. A flat down to down rail gets a little stale after awhile

Wish they would let more of the contestants reff would have been sick to see Finn, Jesper, Emil, Oystein or some of the others get a chance, hell with his limited engling it would have been a fun game to even have Tasai reff
