It's hard for me not to biased because Ferdinand might be my favorite skier to watch rn, but there were some seriously sketchy calls against him. Finn is good no doubt, but there isn't anything I really enjoy about his style so I am bummed he gets to move on purely from the perspective of I'd rather watch Ferdinand ski.

14024770:Billiards. said:You know what meant by anti carve. He did it wrong. And if he specifically called not carving on a cork three than he's actually whack.

14024881:THUGwife said:Ah my bad. Didn't even realise this was a trick. The way he turned slightly left before going straight and then spinning to the right threw me.
14024638:Swandog7 said:Almost had to stop watching after Finn got that call on the R5 tail tap... wouldn't have even called that good on defense
14024885:john18061806 said:Yeah it was a pretty sus call. I feel like a lot of the calls went Finn's way but he was absolutely dominating that game no question about that. As much as I love Ferdi, Finn was the clear winner of that game no doubt about that. I'm really excited to see Colby vs. Vinny and see one of those guys go up against Finn. It'll be a game for the books.
But can we get some hype for Ferdi's dub 7?? that was the most proper axis I've seen since Frej Jonsson did the first one at JOI back in 2012. It wasn't a whackass chest down dub flat 7 that everybody and their mom seems to do these days, no, that was a LEGIT dub cork 7.

In the grand scheme of things, if you're doing a unnatural trick that's more difficult than like a cork 7 or 270 on, it's in the skiers best interest to claim it as unnatural, then if the opponent spins the other way naturally, they have to try the trick the hard way too.
In the end, the level of skiing in the SLVSH cup is beyond having a weak unnatural side, most of these guy can do basic tricks both ways and likely will succeed on harder tricks no matter what direction. There are tons of different variables in this situation and for the most part skiers spin the same way naturally, but it's always different each game and I would expect the distinction of L/R or Nat/Unnat is depended on the skiers.

It would be pretty fucked for someone to look at the opponent, realize he can’t backside 360 for example and say “do an unnatural 360” like no. Just say front or back side...
