Sky Skater

oh my fuck. does this brian guy not realize that snowblades were dead 5 years ago? is he expecting the probably 50 or so people worldwide who still rock blades to look at his product and say "oh my god this is what ive been waiting for"

what a fucking idiot. and what the fuck is that side bar thing on them a grind plate??

watch the videos, looks like they have rollerblade boots on. the only good thing to come out of this is that I just found a new spot for urban in saratoga, SPAC!!!!

OMG

This kid came up to me at SIA and told me about his company, it was Skyskater. He told me that he was wondering if we could make snowblades for him, so I told him to talk to my boss, but I said it would be very unlikely.

He got into a huge argument with me at my booth about how snowblades are going to make a huge comeback and that you can do much more tricks on them. I was really trying hard not to laugh but the kid was turning super super red with anger. We came close to getting into a fight over fucking snowblades. I walked by his booth and I felt so bad for his dad who probably paid a fortune to have a tiny ass booth at SIA.

bahahahha, watch the videos, and check out the prices for these things, $300 for the ski and binding included.

"The action is in the terrain park and the

SkySkater is ready-made for this," Brian said.

"I want the kids to be able to do the same

thing on the snow that they can do on land.

When I enter thejam rails this year, I'm going

to knock their socks oft: No one has ever seen

anything like this."

At the end of last season, Brian took his Sky

Skaters out fur their initial test run in the

terrain park at Willard Mountain. Not only

did he have a blast on them, but his new and

unique "sport" attracted a ton of attention.

The same thing happened a week.later when

he brought them up to West Mountain in

Glens FaDs,NX

"He came back into the lodge and a group

of kids were around him asking questions,"

Stanley said. "One kid offered him $50 to

buy them."

Momentum really kicked into gear in

October (2006) when the Lens showed

off the Sky Skaters at the Albany SId and

Snowboard Expo. The duo handed out '100

stickers and flyers, Brian was the feature of

local TV news segments and he was invited

to demo the product at a local resort's terrain

park grand opening.

The SkySkater booth attracted the particular

attention of snowboarding legend, Olympic

gold medalist Ross Powers, who sauntered

over a half dozen times to express his interest

in the new product. Even Powers' wife came

over to see what the buzz was all about.

"Ross told us it was the most interesting

thing he'd seen in five years," Stanley said.

"Based on a scale of 1 to 10, the ski show was

a 12 for us."

The potential numbers now associated with

the SkySkater are substantially higher, and

Stanley marvels at that $20 and Brian using

the family oven to bake clay molds.

"I said to him, 'Brian, you're a genius.'"

wtf was that ha? i dont even know wat his product is...snowblades? those were already invented wtf is he talking about . I DONT GET IT!!!

Snowblades would be a mudh better and less expensive option to these things. Why would you waste your money on rollerblade boots and a ski with a plastic binding?

Maybe he should convert these into land skis...?

Just an idea...

haha my friend skied on those for 4 years and then realized it was gay... so now hes getting line chronics or invaders...cant remember

a bunch of years ago doug put a piece of metal on his boot with the intention of doing soul grinds... kinda worked, but didn't look that cool at the time.
but now with all these dudes busing out all these crazy grinds... who knows. i think line tried to make a soul grind ledge on their snowblade boots way back in the day as well... anyone wanna back me up with this or is it all in my head?

Hahaha in the beginning of video 1, one of the kids repeatedly eats shit on the Mount Snow trap box

haha he contacted me at UVM ski and snowboard club and wanted to figure out a sponsership thing. I laughed pretty hard

it used to be a plate that you screwed onto them binding things...not a big deal that i was about .2 seconds away from actually buying them back in the day. hah...i rocked the taxicabs if anyone knows what that is ...rock on!

I don't know what you guys are talking about; those things look sick. Don’t ever buy a binding unless you can use it to grind. All other bindings are now obsolete.

Too bad the website is so poorly written. He should really pay that kid who does well in his highschool english class to write for him.

line definitely had a soul plate for the side of your boot, but this kid probably patented the idea of binding and plate combination. DONT HATE, just because this kid wants to do it on blades...there are a ton of skiers out there right now, doing tricks that could utilize this.

This kid is scary close to the future of jibbing.

looks like he ripped off the 04 chronics (the white ones wit the crows on em)

but yea, snowblades were dead, gone, and buried like 8 yrs ago.

skiin wit snowblades is like gettin head from a guy, feels good for awhile until you look down and realize YOUR GAY!!!!!
