Skiing's most pointless and failed products.

Yeah... completely missing the point on that one. Have you ever trekked with boarders? Cuz..... they can't without splits.

/thread.

i have some for sale brand new never been used if anyone is interested.
and that is 100% not a joke.

I got one

On the G suit the stupid pole holders?

the jacket is a long jacket and they put the pole holder down low so your poles just drag on the ground and get in the way

Pointless- NEVER. Failed- Yes. LINE lost a lot of money on this product but look at how ingenious the idea was. You could own three pairs of skis, only need one binding. If you look at it, it resembles a Jester. It had features that could really save you from a major injury when you crash. It was a brilliant idea that just didn't work.

read my original post. the boots suck and you only need them if your a bitch and whine about sore shins and cant harden up

There are 3 in particular i find extraordinarily gimmicky.. or.. just.. stupid..

two years ago, at the ISPO (which is germany's SIA kinda thing...) there was a ski that rossignol had, that was marketed with DUAL CAMBER TECHNOLOGY. It had a cord that was connected at the tip of the ski. You could tighten this cord, and give the ski reverse camber on the spot, or change it back to regular camber.

I thought that idea was epic fail...

At the same event, fischer released a NORDIC JIB SKI.. how the fuck you're supposed to jib on a nordic ski? or even go SWITCH on a freeheel, plastic binding, nordic ski, i have ZERO idea... but... yeah.. they did it.. why? who the fuck knows...

You want proof? I searched, and found the thread... GLORIOUS days.. It even includes the aforementioned zip hoodie that goes all the way over your head. I thought that was a stupid idea too..

CHECK IT OUT--->>https://newschoolers.com/web/content/news/news_id/1889/

Also, (i know this is coming from the race world, but i work at a shop, and i think its retarded)

the volkl tigershark.. it has what they call the "powerswitch" which is this knob on the bottom that you can turn to make the ski stiffer or softer...

massive failure...

This may sound crazy but I've seen pro nordic skiers skiing down full alpine runs backwards, it's very possible. They can do lincolns, spin up to 7 and do grabs...but the jibbing idea was stupid.
Hoodies that zip over your head are the sickest things ever though...it's all about bape/baby milo don't get it twisted.

the jibskate has been around for a while and because my local shop still has their full inventory of them after a good 4 years.

back when you were a player-player macking all the hotties and getting in trouble for passing puppy-love notes to and from that girl Chelsea. not forgetting Dragonball of course.

we all miss our childhood.

You're an idiot if you think its supposed to be a snowboard/ski combo, you split the board for skinning up, put it back together for going down...Lets see you try skinning on a normal snowboard...

The twin tip jib skate skis are definitely as retarded as it gets...

But as far as the Dual-Camber and Dual-Stiffness things go, those two things are about as innovative and UNpointless as it gets, so what are you talking about man? Why wouldnt you want to be able to switch from rocker to no rocker if you only had one pair of skis? I have many, so that shit dont matter, I take the anthems to the park, EPs to the pow, motherships to the steep. But if I had only one pair, I sure as hell wouldnt want rocker if I was shralpin groomers, but it'd be nice as fuck for the pow. Same thing with the dual stiffness. You could have 2 pairs of groomer skis, a softer and a stiffer one-why not just have one that does both?

I think that Atomic was going to produce a binding that told you that you had you boot properly put into your ski. I saw it in Popular science.

I think that skiers saying that snowboards are the most pointless and failed products are the most pointless and failed products themselves

I dont think a cord pulling the ski back can offer you the reverse camber that you want... plus, it would fuck with the normal camber of the ski, and end up rockering the ski anyways if you just leave it on rocker all the time...

I'd rather just have 2 skis like you said - a midfat for everything, and a rockered ski for pow and all... maybe a big mountain charger too... I also see a problem with that when you cross your skis. i'magine you break off the cord and it snapps and you now have one rockered ski and one non rockered ski... that could screw you up bad lol.

and yeah, as far as the tigersharks, i dont see why you'd want to soften up your race ski. sounds pretty retarded to me.
