Skiing's most pointless and failed products.

Ahaha, as soon as I saw the title of this thread I thought Pinkbike!
as for epic fails...nothing comes to mind

i have to say ski masks. i saw a guy at copper trying to wear one like a regular beanie... hair poking through holes and such. if he can't even figure out how to wear it, whats the point?

FREEZE did a story oxn this I think back in 04 or 05.

there were these rubber stick things that would stick up from your skis to prevent you from crossing your skis.

We still have a full size run of them in the store and I can't sell one at any price

Hate to say it but Atomic triplet. If it came with 4 skis , 2 for powder rockered and 2 for park then we would be talking but, since that is newer technology it dosn't count. But 3 skis just do it for me.

Yeah I'd have to admit about the triplet, did seem like a bad Idea. You can only ride 2 skis at a time :p

i agree i hate PE's. they've become the gapers weapon of choice along with the posers favorite ski to buy at Sports Authority. sad sad story.

but not the worst product ever made.

Whats the problemo with the line reactor bindings? have not heard them before so typed in on google but not much info? just curious?

they weigh more than this

Salomon S810/z10 bindings. They're really light, but they may as well be made of tin foil and toothpicks.

you do realize that part of the reason that product failed was because it was too innovative for the time it was put onto the market. yea sure they got a bad rap because they were heavy and seemed impractical but hardly pointless at all. just wait til the day when you have a one binding, six ski quiver. Then you can thank one of the greatest men to ever help skiing, jason levinthal. trust me boys that day is coming.

How about really pointless products like the origional white and black mad trix with the swiveling binding? anyone remember those pieces of garbage? One side park one all mountain?

I remember reading that but you forgot the best part. When people fell, the rubber things would break ribs.

i dont see why so many skiers are hatin on snowboarders. And if you think it was pointless start thinking about who started with jibbing..

Snowboards are not a skiing product so hence can not be one of skiing's most pointless and failed products.Boot warmers are actually not a bad invention. Idk why you would think that.

you do realize that part of the reason that product failed was because it was poorly made. the idea behind it was very ingenious indeed but the actual product dug its own grave. my friends went through 3 pairs in a little over a month and a half, his brother went through 2. neither of them rode hard at all. we would always have to stop and readjust the binding because putting them in vertical ski racks would just slide the heel piece forward. when i was in an REI in seattle i found a pair of the bindings there brand new for 20.00$ and there was a sticky note put on the side saying these bindings are discontinued. it was a failed product. do you ride the reactor binding? i fully understand the practicalities behind the binding but the binding itself was a big brick of doo doo.

Ok maby just redicoulous and hilarious, but i thought they should get a mention in this thread, i mean someone said snowblades and you see alot more of those than monoskis.
