Skiing Not A Real Sport?

if i would have played baseball in college im sure i could have tried out for some minor league teams and you know what baseball takes almost no training compared to big mountain skiing.
 
does your friend ride a short bus to school? the most physically demanding aspect of baseball is a 90 ft sprint (and for the most part baseball players are slow runners)
 
dont get me wrong, i love baseball and all of the fattys in baseball like david wells (no homo), but can you name a pro skier who has that physique? the majority of baseball MLB players are in great shape but ones like wells and matt stairs prove that you dont need to be to play in MLB. it sorta the same with golfers, some are in good shape (woods and villegas) but you dont need to be to succeed in the sport. i doubt a pro skier racer has ever had that big of a beer belly
 
idk if anybody else experiences this but after skiing powder for just a meer 3 hours im like practically dead in my legs.
i wanna see derek jeter ski powder and see how long he lasts

nobody gives a rats ass about baseball. you should impound his testicles, and refuse to give them back until he admits you are right and baseball sucks

I use to play baseball and all it ever was about, the coaches sons getting all the good spots even tho they couldn't catch or pitch and didnt know a dam thing about 1st base, I hated baseball. Skiing has so much more freedom in what you do there are no rules or limits, and there is no cheating.

Don't people all over the world go skiing, and spend hundreds of dolla bills to fly to extravagent places to shred?

Im pretty sure the most you'll do for basebball is buy some cleats and glove. maybe some big league chew

and if you are a chester, you get fucked. mask/helmet (if you get the hockey mask like i have), batting gloves, chest protector, knee guards, cleats, pitchers mitt (that thing is expensive), regular glove (even though you play catcher you will play elsewhere), and cause im 6'4" i need my own bat cause everyone else on my team is under 6'0"..... it fucking sucks. my baseball gear costs more than my ski stuff... but luckily both for the most part are one time purchases.

I don't realy consitder skiing a sport I race for 13 years and do frestuly it's so much more then a sport and calling it a sport or not a sport dose not change it in any way so who cares.
 
was that directed at me? if so, does anyone know what sarcasm is anymore. the only reason im defending baseball is cause im halfway decent at it so its helping me pay my way through school with a scholarship.
 
oh by the way, i dont know if this came up, but baseball is no longer an olympic sport, where as i believe skiing comes into the olympics in numerous forms.

skiing is a sport, no doubt about it. people saying baseball isnt kinda gets on my nerves cause not all baseball players are fatasses like David Ortiz, Prince Fielder, or Joba Chamberlain (i love hom im a red sox fan and list ortiz in this). baseball does take a lot of skill and athletic talent especially for guys like BJ Upton, Jose Reyes, Dustin Pedroia, and Ichiro. they are both very much sports in their own right.

skiings a sport because:

-you need to be in good shape to play it.

-some people get payed for it

-its an olympic sport

-there are competitions (JOI, JOSS, Dew tour, ect.)

-it fun

-organized

-its physical

-takes skill

-not boring

-and many many many more

Baseball is NOT a sport because:

-you dont need to be in shape to do it

-not physical at all

-really boring

-anyone can throw a ball, catch a ball, and hit a ball.

-not fun AT all

-ITS A SEXIST "GAME" NOT A SPORT. WOMEN ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY BASEBALL. THEY HAD TO COME UP WITH THEIR OWN THING:SOFTBALL......

-its a pussy "game". basically no injuries besides injuries to birds(that guy that nailed a bird when it flew by. anyone know wat im talkin about?)

-people take steroids bcuz theyre such pussies.
 
or, as a catcher, throw 127.28 feet from your knees virtually to throw out a guy that can run a 4.4 40 yard dash.

or at center gun down a runner heading to the plate from mid center.

watch the epicness of some of these guys...

both skiing and baseball are sports in their own right.
 
dude, you get shin bang in skiing. thats way worse than wearing out ur shoulder. In skiing, you can pull a tanner hall, now thats physical.
and in football, you never see women wanting to play it cuz theyre too small(sorry to all them ladies out there)

regardless of whether it was made to be entertaining baseball players get payed obcene amounts of money to entertain a crowd the only difference between baseball players and gladiators (besides the sports themselves) is that gladiators were slaves that fought for their lives vs. a bunch of regular dudes who play for a ton of cash
