Skiing Invention Ideas

Something like this for skis? You can change the position of your bindig on the ski, centermount for park, and move the binding back when it snows

Like the post above. It would be cool if binding companies and ski companies got together to make binding inserts in skis the norm, well on park skis. I don't know how it could work. A universal binding pattern, you buy you skis with the binding inserts at 25.5-27.5 and then the bindings are ajustable from there.

Just a thought.

Yeah but that isn't "universal" or in the ski. Think about it if it was in the ski it would put you closer to the ski and snow and you could use any binding you want, depending on which companies would go for it. It would be sweet and take away the need for binding to have any sort of adjustment forwards/ backwards in the heel at all therefore redesigning the bindings to be closer to the ski. I personally think this is a great idea. Have one or two tracks the range from toe at centre to like 6-7 cm back from the toe for lets say a 29 boot so most people will have the option to be that far back. Also change the length of track for the length of ski because typically taller people have bigger feet and vice versa.

Also it would end up making bindings lighter and might even be able to solve problems with rip outs, because I imagine a rip out on a track to be the worst possible thing ever there would have to be some sort of safety thing I imagine.

Resale values would increase because your skis will never have been drilled, but it's a pretty cool price to pay knowing that from there on a shop could never fully screw up a mount that wouldn't be a simple quick fix, hell shops could mount your bindings insanely fast and probably wouldn't have the crap waiting period.

Well don't let them on the mountain with them, like I said in the rest of the post you forgot to quote, they would be for those little tiny sledding hills so people without money could get into skiing to the point where they would want to save up money for better equipment.

An adjustable home jib that is split into 3 sections and you can adjust the kinks and height of each section.... I have already made a prototype

there was a thread on it a couple months ago, some place online was selling them, not too cheap though. its seemed pretty similar to ASPs combi system that they use in whistler parks and a few other places

Those don't do it for me. Your gotta unzip your pocket, usually requiring that you take off your glove, and when its raining thats the last thing I want to do. I'm talking automatic, just flip a switch, type windshield wipers.

rainX usually works well for me for the outside of the lens.

but when it's warm enough to be raining, my goggles tend to fog on the inside.

It has to be something that you don't have to over think the shit out of. The most successful money making inventions are often painfully simple.Accept for you know the iPod and Computers.

make a wheel insert that u can put on in order to skate to the lodge and take them off when u get on the snow...no walking from parking lot anymore!

but seriously

make boot gel inserts or something, idk im not that creative.

as for your idea:

velcro > magnets

ok so its not really an invention seeing as they already make them, but some one seriously needs to do a better job at making cat tracks, as in the rubber things you put on your boots to stop the soles form wearing down. They fucking suck, they pop off all the time, especially once youve had them for a bit and they get a bit stretched out. I know they make like big expensive hard ones, but those are so big that you cant put them into your jacket easily. So if someone could just redesign cat tracks and make them not suck, that would superb.

a portable tow rope of some sort would be cool for urban or hiking....probably would never work but just something you stick in the ground and can make it alittle easier...hiking sucks

its called a winch, except theyre normally used to pull down the hill, not up it. haha it would be pretty dope if you could some how sneak one up a mountain, put it on a sled of some form and and bring it into the bc, then use it to pull your ass back up to the top of the in run. Dont know if it would be any less work all said and done though compared to just hiking.

Would this not get super heavy? An electromagnet need coils of wire and to make a pole magnetic you'll need a magnetic pole material, or atleast grip material. It would become super heavy, and that's the opposite to what I want with poles. I think the velcro idea would be better as it would be lighter, and more flexible. Otherwise I think the best way to attach and detach poles is with the method that Leki poles use is better and possibly more reliable.

How about a face mask that has pouches on the cheek to be able to stick hand warmers in. That way on really cold days your cheeks don't get cold and the mask doesn't get frozen from the moisture of breathing.
