Skiing alone?

I used to have a lot of fun skiing by myself, but as of last season it hasn't exactly been...interesting. I have basically just cranked the tunes and cruised. What are some good things to just play around with when skiing by yourself?

Personally, I hate skiing alone b/c I like to share my fun with others...a big group isn't great either, but like when its one other person its perrrrrrrrfect. If i went by myself I'd probably either just mess around and meet new people, or really push myself and learn something

i like riding with 1-3 people max! when the group gets to big, the group gets broken up and you have to many people going lets do this, no lets do that. When i ride alone i listen to some beets and i just ride chill and try to progress and jib, shit like that.

I often ride alone and when I do my days usually arent half as fun. With other people you get pushed to try new things and go bigger than the last guy did and lift rides are A LOT better. When Im alone I do my normal thing, 540 this, 270 onto that, 360 this. get bored and go home. Withothers skiing is the best

If im alone i like to just mess around on some easier stuff, but i like to ski with a small group too, just enough to fill a chair is my limit for the most part

i ski alone sometimes and i think its fun everyonce in a while but it can get old pretty fast. usually i just listen to music and focus on trying to progress in one thing. its def way better with other people but can be fun just by yourself.

its the opposite for me. when i ski in a group i just do the same old stuff. but when i ski alone i feel like i have to go bigger than the last guy, land more cleanly, whatever. its weird. like i have something to prove.

ive only gone skiing alone like once, but i hit my first 60 footer that day sooo ya i push myself considering other than that all ive hit is like 20- 35

we have no park and I really don't like going into the BC without a partner, so hitting big booters isn't really an option. but yeah, I usually ski with a crew but when they're not there it does get boring.

i ski alone at my local mtn sometimes. its fun to put on the skullcandys, bump em and get away from ppl once in a while. i tend to try new, creative things and not rush so much.

yet, skiing with others is a lot of fun. i liek both

i ski alone a fair bit. got no choice. its' not like i'm going to be like " oh i guess i won't ski today...". tunes are a must though.

i ski alone actually a lot...it gets boring sometimes. its SO much better skiing with friends, cuz u have people to talk to, i feel like we push eachother to get better and see who can do better stuff i guess. but in the end its all cool. but i ski alone too much cuz a lot of my friends went to ski school...need to meet more people. heh

skiing alone is the perfect time to hook up with locals and find more stashes. Almost every time I go up alone I end up meeting someone on the chair and skiing with them, so it's really not a problem. Skiing alone on a powder day is actually a privilege, I'd rather do laps as fast as I can by myself rather than wait for a friend.

i hear that, especially if the lift lines are rediculous and theres nobody to talk to so youre just standing there feeling awkward

i dunno i have different days, its always nice to ski with people but i find i progress alot more when i ski alone probably just because i do alot more sitting around not actually skiing when im with people, so i guess both have their ups and downs

skiing alone is no fun when you are by yourself, but sometimes when your out on the mountain, there is nothing like being the only one around, usually like first or last run of the day. Just cranking some chillin tunes

I ski alone much of the time because most of the people I ski with go way slower than me and usually only wnat to hit the park. My hill is 250', so it doesn't make much sense for me to take a 1-2 minute +or- run and then wait the same amount of time at the bottom.

if something happens when youre alone skiing pow, youll be happy having someone to help you. but yeah i used to ski alone sometime but it way better when you are 3-4.

last year i prob did 25 days solo, like it was said before, if i have no one to go with that doesn't mean i wont ski that day. when i ski solo i think of it as a day of work. a chance to work on stuff with no one else around, whether thats getting a trick dialed in the park or a line you want to ski really well, i pretty much set a goal for that day and try to accomplish it.

Brookvale, PEI, but this year I'm going to school in Newfoundland, so Marble Mountain! isn't open yet though for this season.

Today when i was ksiing i was with people for like half the day and then they had to leave so i was alone and when i was aloe i had half the fun as i did with my buds

i juts think ridin with friends just makes the sport that much more enjoyable

and I thought my 1000' of vertical home mountain (its only technically a mountain by 6' as a total of 2006' elevation ASL at the summit) was small! though i do have a hill near me that is only 200', it closed up last year permenately

i find i progress more when i am with a group of people cause there is pressure to match their trick or do better. I like skiing alone though cause i can listen to music yah know

I'm better than all my friends and way more dedicated too, so I end up skiing alone quite a bit, but when I do I accomplish alot more because I can focus, try new stuff and do the same trick over and over again to just really get it dialed.

When I go skiing alone though I always make sure I have music, and I'll set a goal for myself to accomplish that day. If I start eating it alot I'll just go do something else and fool around, have fun doing stuff that I've got locked to get my confidence back up and so I start feeling good about it again, and then I'll go and do it again. You can get alot accomplished if you know how.

skiing alone gets so boring. Cuz you just lap what ever you're skiing all day and there's no one to talk to. I'm pushed way more when i ski with people too

It's not about whether I SHOULD ski with other people...WHAT SHOULD I DO WHILE SKIING ALONG? Read the first post, please.

if I'm not alone, it's with two of my buddies who freeski or its with my girlfrien, other then that skiing byself I just jam to music and try to talk it up with new people.

I used to ski by myself quite a bit...i never listened to music though...i used to and i dont like it all that much. When i do ski by myself though if im not in the park i just explore new areas...like finding places in the trees where it opens up and is really good that no one knows about and try to find new stashes and just have an overall good time.

i like them both. skiing with friends who are better than me definatly pushes me to throw new tricks down, and skiing alone lets me do whatever i want. i have no preference.

I ike skiing by my self sometimes because i can concentrate and just screw around and try some stuff, i also like skiing with other people two but two others max, i would probally like skiing with other people way better if i new people who freestyle skied, all my friends are snowboarders(which is fine) but its harder to push eachother

i dont mind it sometimes but skiing with one to three other people is real chill and i tend to push myself more but id rather ski alone then not ski at all

when you're by yourself, it's easier to push up through the line. make it a game to get on with a hottie (or 3) every ride...

on regular days kind of skiing everywhere 4 people to a group is a good number

on powder days 2 people to a group is way better because there is still like, a buddy system and someone to ride up the lift with, but less chance of getting separated and waiting for people

and skiing alone is kind of a last resort, but if you have headphones its alright, i mean, skiing by yourself is a lot more fun than staying home by yourself

it depends on the conditions for the day. if its a huge powder day i dont want to ski with anybody that cant keep up, pow days are too rare to be pissing and moaning on what or where to go, or to have to wait for a large group. my motto is "there aint no friends on a powder day." haha, but if its nice and sunny out then skiing with 3-7 ppls not bad for park and shit, gets me amped to see my friends pull some sweet shit.
