ahhh, the old guard...What would the real wayne wong think?
Here's the problem with what you're saying: No one is bothering to ski a line into a ski-base jump. It's always the same thing; short non-tech straightline to get enough speed to clear the few rocks that could possibly get in your chute's way at opening, into some stupid sized cliff, throw your poles, pull the chute, and float to your landing, where you take off your skis and do what, exactly? Hike back up? Uh..ok...sure...sounds like fun, but do it on your own time thank you. I don't need to pay $30 for a ski movie, only to see you fucking around with your parachute. You're not actually doing anything related to skiing. You're not using any balance skills, you're not using any skiing-related skills at all, in fact. You're just BASE jumping with skis on...so, are you trying to "progress" BASE jumping, or skiing? Seems to me like it's neither, and it's actually just a stunt.
Why not just BASE jump???
Ski-chuting is kinda like mixing cereal with steak. Two things that together you would think add up to greater than the sum of its parts, but in the end add up to less because they just don't mix.
