Ski Time = Terrible

True.

*Rubbing ears gently* Wooo-saw, Woo-saw

And i actually think have guest articles from people like NS members in an issue of Ski Time would be sick.

kev,

Don't you think it is a little over the top to get angry at someone having an opinion, just becaause it was one which contradicted yours? A question for you: Would you have said the same thing if the guy had said "Ski Time rocks", without giving any reasons?.. probably not.

No one is obligated to offer an explanation for thier views if they dont feel the inclination to, or at least, thats how i see it.

Your right. I got a little personal, cause for me it is kinda personal, and I apologize for taking it too far.

and for the record he did give an explantion afterwards, later on in the thread, which was very contructive.

It just pinched a nerve in me, and the angry verbal diahrria came out.

Personally, I was disappointed with Ski Time. The articles were few and far between. Most of them half a page at most. The mag was mostly ads.

I know what it takes to put out a magazine. Ski Time had a great opportunity to step up and do something really good. I think they missed it.

And only two issues this year? With all that time I think they could have done a lot better job with it.

it kinda seemed like all the articles were written by 13 a year old, actually the whole magazine was that way, it was all kinda played out and too much pink, the fathers testicles thing was retarted, ya

wow, Nick, always stirring up the shit. isn't that my job?

no, the magazine wasn't the great. honestly, if it wasn't free, i probably wouldn't have picked up an issue. being that it was free, though, and i've had a couple weeks to paw through it and take a look at basically everything between the covers, it definitely helped me make it through the last bit of fall with out going completely insane. it was entertaining, slightly informative, and helped me kill time between classes. can we really ask for anything more?

it was like a free blow job- not always the best quality, but you can't complain because it was free.

People need to remember that the Ski Time editors are also full-time Freeskier employees, and the only time that Ski Time gets worked on is when those editors have some spare time in the office. For those of you who don't know, there isn't any such thing as "spare time" when you're busting ass for a ski magazine - let alone trying to make two at the same time. So no, the people working on Ski Time didn't have "all that time" to put it together, and the decision to run with only two issues this year was unfortunately a decision made by the powers-that-be at Freeskier. In all honesty I don't think more than two issues could be done- there's not enough time, and all of the really good stories and photos get channeled to Freeskier anyway.

Also remember SKI TIME's targeted audience is ages 17-18 and under. Therefore it might not be your cup of tea

Why in this modern world everytime people get together and try to achieve something good for a community they always get criticized... I mean, they doing a good job... Why diss them? Personally I found the first issue far more interesting than what freeze has done so far.

Keep it up guys!

i really enjoy the mag and would pay for it, but:

their "design" consists of cheesy cmyk crap. anyone can throw those colors together and get a cool looking page.

and

NONE OF THE ART IS THEIRS. EVERYTHING THAT LOOKS COOL, GRUNGE, OR PUNK IS A FONT PACK AVAILABLE FOR FREE ON A MAJOR FONT WEBSITE.

other than that its a cool mag. wait till they get on their feet a little more to have more content, for now its free so there has to be alot of ads to cover shipping and printing and the staff eating.

yes ski time is sick, i receive it in france and i found it really well done. and does anyone knows whos the rider on the central double page, riding an urban c-rail like a gentleman?

i didn't think is was that bad for the first issue, but i found it was a little too ADD for my liking. I didn't like the random letters and colors and pictures all over the place.

NICKF IS THE MAN..he is right......i really didnt apprciate it that much...dude it was pretty lame...pics were cool...but not enuff stuff.....like it didnt ge to the point....too much bs..i luv ya harvey but...better luck nxt time

Kev, I'm sorry I hit a sensitive spot for you. But seriously, can you please defend the issue on articles...

I can honestly say that I could write better articles than the ones in that mag. Secondly, don't ever tell me to submit an article because a) 90% of skiing magazines are bad for skiing and I'd never contribute and b) Between two English classes I have no time for extra work.

Thanks for playing devils advocate with me but I would like too see you defend the mag/articles (or lack there of).

Considering when i picked it up, my expectations weren't to read another Freeskier, Powder, SBC Skier, type of mag, I knew that this mag was marketed to a different segment of the skiing population. Ie. somthing like 13-18 year olds, and have a bit of more of a lifestyle aspect to it.

I thought the busy wacky graphics were something fresh, and kept me entertain visually. All the select photos i though were pretty sick.

I thought the interveiws where a little bit more laid back then normal, and weren't so stern and direct to the point. It sounds like a couple buddies having a conversation. And i actually enjoyed them. Gave the interveiw a bit of a different spin on things.

The thing i enjoyed the most and i think was the point of the magazine was it was entertaining. Not so much informative.

Levin's little add space, and alot of the little articles were totally jokes, and i found myself actually laughing out loud.

It's one of those magazines that sits on top of my toilet, and no matter how long from now when i pick it up, it's going to grab my attention, and entertain me no matter what page im on. Rather then something like Powder, which i would read sitting down in my chair in the corner of my living room without the tv on.

So for me i think it hit it's target market and goals. They made an extremely entertaining funny mag, with some sick skiing pictures in it.

Cause sometimes even i get bored reading through some of those long ass articles in Powder, or SBC Skier.

Obviously, we had different expectations when we picked it up. But it met mine, as it was suppose to. I think Harv did a great job. (and im not even in that age bracket).

And when i said go ahead and submit an article to you, it wasn't a challenge. It was merely the truth, if you don;t have time you don;t have time, i wasn't mocking you, i actually think if a NS member could whip up a good article about some/any aspect of skiing, Ski-Time would be into it.

one thing that pisses me off, while on thetopic of pissed offdom, is stuff liek this. answer his question, like kev did, and that will be that. it took you longer to type the useless " search bar "answer than it would have taken to say "travis heed bitch"...

anyways, resume.

i was hoping that most of the 14 year old kids on here would be able to make a connection with that example. but the answer is no- the chicks usually pay ME to suck my dick. hahahahahahahahahahaha! oh, i crack me up.
