Ski Sundown 2013-2014 Season

toms got a new look

barrel thingy, side kink, c rail, box, down tube, down double and two jumps. rollers added soon.

Stinger has the fdfd, unbow, 32 urban, big red and a jump. next to that is the fud tower and the dfd with the s rail after that.

design a feature contest coming soon. hopefully at bottom near tower two.

bumps are being seeded on gunny.

spring is almost here. ps for you 21 + folk,,, snow bar next week

I'd have to look at it again, but there should be a landing. We want it to have a big drop off this time instead of being really close to the landing. Are you saying the landing is too flat or too close? Cause it definitely ends into a down hill slope.

Also this for those who haven't seen it:

The landing on the unbow seemed fine to me, but if you aren't clearing it with speed it can be a hard landing. Just hit it faster, take advantage of the steepness of the run.

I had such a great time in both parks last night. The FDFD is amazing smooth! The way the 32 is setup right now is the best that I've had the pleasure to experience. It's perfect. Great job to everyone involved

Didn't get a chance to ski much today, so I didn't hit it, I'll try again tomorrow. Might not be able to be fixed till Tuesday though (if it is too flat), we'll see.

My possible entry for the rail jam. Still thinking of adding/taking out some stuff. What do you think?:

Left side is gap to down rail, middle is cannon to two barrels to bonk, righ side is close out to either skinny or round rail

is there a decent chance of stayig open until late april? i know its connecticut and it gets warm soon but im just hoping to get at least another day in this season. the doc says i most likely cant ski until then

Late April??? I don't think that's ever happened...sorry, but I'm pretty sure there is no chance of that considering the only mountains on the east coast open that late are basically Killington, Sugar Loaf and Sunday River.

Should have no problem keeping snow until April this year (not late)... But I guess it depends on whether bob and chris are willing to keep the lifts spinning with less customers. Next week and beyond looks relatively cool with some chances for snow. Warm ups here and there but overall it's not bad for march

I don't think I'm gunna make it out there tonight, but I'm thinking about coming day time tomorrow. I know you guys are rebuilding saturday; will the parks be completely open and in good condition tomorrow?

Everything will be open tomorrow, as well as saturday and sunday. We're just building the rail jam set-up which is going towards the bottom of the mountain (skiers right of Exhibition, where the moguls were).

If u wanna ride I wear a black burton jacket with gray pants... Seth Morrison boots are the big giveaways. Usually wear a helmet with green ns stickers. Feel free to call me out

Just got off the hill. Cat work was done this morning, so everything should shape out really well. We replaced the S-rail with the Rainbow rail...looks really fun.

Depends on how long the season goes. Not really planning on it, but if things starting wearing out quick we might have to. Might change things here or there, but no major rebuild is really planned unless necessary.

Stinger setup is death right now. I think u guys should have a ollie on rail, normal tube, down rail simple stuff that can be hit many ways, the jump is fun as hell too.

Death?? Or really fun...I watched it get destroyed by multiple people today.

Toms has the things you asking for. Why would we make stinger small features?

so then its two parks everbody [/u]can hit, not a select few. obviously, people need to dial in there skills (etc), but it is seriously death and super sketchy.

toms = small to medium

stinger = death sized (supposed to from what i know be more like medium - big)

there is no imbetween is my problem with it

Id really like to see all of the lift towers seperate. The huge kink has been up for a while and it's kinda gettin old in my opinion. Then throw another rail I'm next to the cannon on the lower part

I kind of see what you're saying here. I have fun on stinger but I can see how someone who is trying to hit bigger features doesn't have much of a stepping stone between the two right now.

It'd kind of be like having only the junkyard and gulch or inferno at mount snow with no nitro.

That being said I love it for my own selfish reasons ;)

we purposely kept things smaller all season in preparation for this current stinger set up. Come today while its 50 and sunny and you;ll see all of those features get tore up.

that said, it's gonna be 50, so next week we'll have to reset features.

i like the idea of separating the towers, maybe even separating the fdf and down rail at the top.

big red stays, because its awesome. jump will get a tune up, and who knows what else after that.

I think the unbow would be pretty rad if it was set up next to the jump so you could launch off of it into a real landing.

I would like the lift towers separated as well, but I think the rest of the setup is golden. The only thing they should be considering for mid-level features is some big boxes/T-boxes on stinger and a box or two on toms that isn't as wide or in the ground.

The lift towers are now set up as a flat-down (the a-frame got taken out). As far as the boxes thing goes, we only have the one box that's on Tom's, all of our others have broken beyond repair and become other features.

Closed this week (Mon-Thurs), possibly open this weekend (Fri-Sun) then done, possibly already done for the season...depends on the weather.
