I pretty much didn't want Frenchy to be able to make it so here it is. I got in two days last year due to injury, here's to a better season for everyone.

A perfectly good reason. I heard this year he's coming out strong with a gang of 100 12 year olds to hype all of his tricks. Be on the lookout for the french king of the hill.

Welp...this started out just as expected for August...

Here, have some info on rail jams:

Sep. 21 - Avon Day, Ct

Oct. 12 - Suburban Sports - Berlin,CT

Oct. 19 - Morsel Munk - Winsted, CT

Nov. 9 - Colorado ski Shop, West Springfield, MA

Nov. 23 - something epic soon to be announced

Nov. 30 - Simsbury Celebrates, Simsbury, CT

Also, rumor has it that there will be some new features built, not sure if I'm at liberty to say what, but they'll certainly be fun.

Finally, don't forget the pass deadline for saving $100 is Oct. 31st!

Here's some hype...let's see if you can figure it out...

I'm sure most of you already have...but don't forget to buy your passes before Oct. 31st to save some cash.

Lift #3 is gone, magic carpet is in (see Sundown Facebook for that). But there's more to it than that...think about it...

Technically, yes, there is one new trail, but not one that anyone who isn't an instructor will spend much time on (at least as far as this site is concerned). S'no Way is back.

I really can't believe you guys aren't making the connection here...

no, we've squeezed in a mini c rail, a 32 ish foot long dfd z rail, a 21 foot round bar thats about 2.5 feet tall and some mini jibs. after the dfd tower and a yet to be determined other tower feature we've gotta make uber mini introductory features for little joe and toms

not enough hours in the day. add coffee.

see you at suburban sports this saturday, Morsel Munk the following week, Colorado Ski Shop rail jam November 9 (mustache theme) , a almost finalized rail jam on November 23rd and Simsbury Celebrates on November 30.

PLEASE BE A SKI INSTRUCTOR THIS WINTER I NEED YOUR HELP pm me

still making moves like always jarrod. those sound like some fun new jibs. make an up-down or flat down tube, always fun and so trickable.

think this is the year im gona make it back and ride with you guys again. definitely going to need to get some beers with you and the park crew guys, i gota hook up some rounds for all the great times i enjoyed there.

Jarrod if you need help around the hill I'll come in a day a week for free man. I'm gonna miss working there so much... Been my winters for 7 years!!

boss man is pushing for some unique features. something no one else has.

brendan and i think we figured out a way to make a rotating tractor tire feature, we've got a wall ride tower feature idea that we're tossing around...

but my point is, simple, straightforward trick able rails that we can rotate through the toms park to change them out weekly is more ideal than some goofy unique feature just for the sake of having a unique feature. whats the thought out there...

you guys are a good focus group for this stuff.

I'm trying to picture this rotating tractor tire thing in my head and I can't really figure out what you guys are goin for here....

I would use all of the lift tower stuff going to towards some fun straightforward rails because EVERYONE loves those things.

Unique features are cool but I wouldn't try to force something trying to make it unique

It's basically like a tractor tire on an axle, so when you land on it it'll still move instead of stopping you dead in your tracks and double ejecting your face into the ground...theoretically.

Lift tower wall ride would most likely still be able to be hit as a flat rail, just also have a side to go up/down depending on how it's set up...we have like 100 feet of the stuff, it can't all be 20ish ft flat rails (Cat can't move much more than 20-25 ft of it, too heavy), so we might as well make some different stuff too.

^So you're saying the lift tower wall ride would be somewhat similar to the Windells Gatorade cannon? If so that would be awesome

Not quite, I'd think of it more like the saga wall, but without the creeper ledge and with an angle (like the gatorade wall, but only on one side), so you can hit it like a wall ride or hit it like a high flat rail. Keep in mind, this thing hasn't been finalized yet either, just ideas right now.

ya boy frenchy gonna be a lifty this year! Stoked, i'll be working fri-sun so i'll still have plenty of time to ski!

putting snow guns out!

Check instagram later. I'll post a few scenic shots haha.

Looking forward to getting started down here.

Feature paint party this weekend, the freestyle lesson program is coming together with training sessions coming up in the next few weeks and it looks like we're poised better than ever to open with marginal snow making windows.

More guns on the opening day plan than ever before. so this is cool.

Who's coming to the swap this weekend?

hahahha. id be shocked if tomorrows weather is accurate.

if that worked out, then yes, that would be the first night, wed be able to open for thanksgiving weekend nearly 100% with two parks.

however, ive only seen this place open that early two or three times in the 25 years ive skied here.

SO STOKED for the new features this year and the WALL RIDE I've been buggin for the past few seasons...long live lift tower features. Wish there was something I could do to help out with the openiing...you guys give me so much joy all season long.

The first goal is always for the day after Thanksgiving, it would most likely never be before then. However, weather is the biggest factor, and it's something that can't be controlled. Snow guns have been tested any, problems with the system are being fixed, so that as soon as possible the button can be pushed and usually 48-72 hours later the mountain is open. So the real answer to that is, as soon as it's cold enough for long enough.
