fuck you

Whats the setup like right now? I was up two weekends ago but not last. Has it changed at all since then?

Some build happened today (I didn't work or ski today so I don't know if it was a rebuild or a touch up after the rain, we didn't really make a plan because of the rain), more tomorrow. I'll update this thread tomorrow afternoon when we're done building everything.

Forgot to post this yesterday:

Stinger: 32' flat bar, Unbow, 2 jumps - 25' step-over, 25' table (1st one closed for now, if it softens up with sun we might be able to get it open later), Skinny urban down rail, s-rail, sidekink

Toms: Barrel to down rail, 2 corrugated spines, flat rail (round bar), down rail (double barrel), flat tube, jump (10' table)

Don't forget about bump comp today, registration from 10:30-12:30, comp starts at 1pm. Scoring based on speed, turning, and jumps.

First jump is open now. Second one...well the landing is pretty bad so not today, but Wednesday it should be good. We're thinking of putting something up that hasn't been seen all year, and (to my knowledge) has never been up this last in the season. Pretty stoked we have this much snow to work with still.

Please do NOT take out the rails from the latest park build (last Friday...) for the girls comp or whatever it is. That's the sickest set up of the year, can you just give them a flat box and the flat 16? I beg of you park crew.....

PLEASE.

Plus if you put the good rails at the bottom there, when the warm weather comes you will not have speed after you hit the feature (Where the 2 spines are now).

Fun story...that setup should have sucked (I'm glad it doesn't...but it should have)...jarrod and I were getting very frustrated during the entire build, haha.

That said...the flat box is currently broken, and the flat 16 has holes ripped in it (and will never be good again). So we kinda have to take things from the rest of the park. BUT, it's not like it can't go back to where they are...

Well nice job to you guys! Is the rainbow box still broken? So that day will the bottom park be empty again?

I'm most definetly wearing a wig that day.

Sooooo many pieces (I don't even know where they all are...some might have even been used to remake the FDF box). I don't think so, we're gonna rebuild friday morning so we'll know then. James and I came up with a fairly fun idea which might actually work well there, we'll see.

No wigs...this is just for the girls, we came up with the idea because all the other rail jams are mainly dominated by guys and we've had less and less girls even enter, when we asked them why they kinda hinted that it wasn't fun because of the pressure and they didn't want to look like fools in front of the guys, hence no guys at this one. Don't worry, it's only a few hours, and everything will be left open after the event like always anyways.

Yup. Same as all of our comps have been this year, I don't see a reason for this one to be any different.

Stinger Jumps got a reshape this morning. look before you leap. yay!

Girls Day.... no spectating gentlemen. let the ladies have a nice afternoon.

Any one want to buy a 20 ft banshee bungee i would like to sell it to someone locally at sundown.

It is in 9/10 condition i have not used it for urban, only backyard jumps and rails has only about 30 pulls it comes with carabeaners, bag, lead line and i have another extra handle (plain water ski handle) that attaches perfectly. PM me for offers and pictures

its pretty early to tell. there is still a lot of snow left but i dont know the weather for the next week besides rain for tomorrow. I think another couple weeks though

Pretty sad the season is nearing it's end... Any plans on new rails this summer in the making? Another lift tower type of rail would be pretty sick!

We're basically gonna give Cesca a bunch of metal and say "go for it" and see what he comes up with. We've talked about a single barrel C, a Z style rail, and a bunch of round bar with caps (like the side-kink, but straight) that we can connect into different variations since the close-in/side-kink Z rail worked well. Trust me, we'd love more tubes, but lift tower rails aren't something we can really just get all that easy...but you never know...however, it was talked about, if we did get some more, they'd also get round caps so we can connect them together...how sick would a 60ft DFD made out a tower tubes be!

Honestly, I don't want a park full of urban down bars...they get really boring. Although, if you think about it, I'm almost positive that all season there has been at least one urban on down rail on hill (it's usually the skinny rail, but he 32 was for a while, the double barrel was for a bit too). I like an urban on rail every once and a while, but to me it's kinda a waste of 2-3 feet of trickable rail...which is why I try to only do it with our big rails...but most of those were buried all year (something we're trying to figure out how to avoid for next year...cause that was lame).

dont think that will happen again as CT doesnt usually get hit like that. but great job on the park this year with what was available. setup was sick all season

They were all buried before it snowed...they got buried during snowmaking because of the absurd amount of snow we were able to make one night. Thanks for understanding though.

Friday I don't care about because I have a dodgeball tournament for school... But why not open Sat+Sun, or at least close at 10 on Saturday!

I think closing Saturday at 5 makes perfect sense...that's what it always is (in years past)...I'm not sure why people are upset about this...it's APRIL...they've NEVER been open in April before...

But for real...the answer has to do with customers...over the past few weekends the busiest times have been Saturdays during the day, Sundays have been slow, nights have been slow..it doesn't make sense to be open when there's more staff working than there are people skiing this late in the season.

They have though, just not in the last couple years... Alright that makes sense though. Still rather would ski until 10 :/

Not upset man, just asking!

I understand, I knew you weren't mad, it's a legit question. Just means you have to shred extra hard from 8am-5pm!! It's going to be a crazy day no matter what.

Yup, we do several rail jams over the course of the summer/fall. The Village Ride on June 15th should be the first one. Then Avon Day on September 21st, and Simsbury Celebrates on November 30th (there are more in there, the dates just aren't known yet...once we know all the dates a thread is usually posted as well as info on Sundown's facebook/twitter).

Toms - down rail, flat box, down rail, lift tower, jumo

Stinger - 32, ollie pad/skinny, barrel phallus, side kink, jump

happy how it came out as far as closing day parks go.

Saturday 8-5, pond skim, sun and warm temps. Gonna be a good time

see you here

Thanks a lot to the park crew! You really stepped it up this winter I feel, the setup today was sick too! Learned a bunch of stuff, thanks again!

Seems like there is quite a bit of snow left too

Welp, it was a good season. Thanks for putting up with what I'm going to call our experimental year, we know it wasn't perfect all the time, but as long as you guys had fun we're stoked. Hopefully next year will be even better.

See you all in the fall for rail jam season!
