Am I even allowed to make it 2 years in a row? Oh well

Here are the upcoming rail-jams for this season (as seen in fluff's thread)

9/29 - Avon Day

10/6 - Suburban Sports w/meat head flims premier

10/13 - Morsel Munk w/Sunny premier

10/27 - Ski Sundown

11/3 - Colorado Ski Shop's in W.Springfield MA

11/24 - Simsbury Celebrates

11/25 - Litchfield Rail Jam

May we have a good long year with glorious powder days and a park full of features!

Don't be afraid to say hi to fellow NS'ers! We're nice people :)

Haha....I knew this was coming. Like last year, I think its too soon, but whatever.

So umm....plans...I have some ideas, my brain has been going in overdrive this summer for some reason. I can NOT promise any of these will actually be built, there's a lot of factors that go into them, just some things I've been wanting to try, so, here:

BTW, bare with us a little more this year...things are going to be slightly different and will take some getting used to...not going to get into details, but yeah, things will just be a bit different, not bad or less (hopefully), just different, haha.

Haha yeah sorry, at least it's later than last years.

And it sucks that I switched to skiing last year, most those features look SICK, maybe a little too difficult for me? Idk. But is that flat rail to wall ride suppose to be like the wall-ride being the landing/tranny? If so, that would be sick. But just please put a lot of features on Toms so I can learn new tricks quicker so I can catch up to you goons. (Never gonna happen lol.)

those plans look great. my advice for this year is you have to get the moguls off stinger. that wasted way to much space for rails and jumps.

I was thinking either that, kinda like the rail to stairs idea without stairs, or having it setup so it was standing up on an angle, so like the rail, then you have to change to a huge box on a 45 degree angle kinda thing...not really sure about that one...plus the wallride would have to get completely taken apart...who knows if that would happen.

wasn't really our call. . .

plus, that's kinda a hard spot to build on anyways since its so steep...but we'll see about that.

you should make the flat to gap a closeout to gap.

we had a closeout with a sick gap at my hill last year and it was uber fun. then they took away the intersecting rail and it wasn't as fun.

that is sick. i just dont think connecticut get enough snow to do that but that would be one of the soolest features

Hey so is Jarrod still going to be in charge of Terrain and managing the Park? All of us at the Ski School got a email weeks ago saying that Jarrod is a Director for the Snow Sports School now. Any insight on this?

I'm doing both! Yay!

Brendan will be giving a lot more freedom in building. I'll be in the cat early mornings and then hand the responsibilites over to him once the hill is open... that's when the ski school-age begins. Carpet Lift for life yo! haha.

Stoked for this winter, and, because there's no way the weather could be worse than last year, i have high hopes. Fuck Flashkick101's modesty... it's gonna kick ass!

:)

Keep the ideas coming. Bwalms loves this shit.

hell yea jarrod, stoked youre runnin the show.

its always rad seeing all the stoke for sundown, the vibe is up there with any mountain ive been too. hopefully ill be able ride there this year.

someone should save there buddy pass they get with their season pass! will compensate with doobs or beers or money or bath salts.

Shredded at sundown once last year, trying to ski every saturday this season (I'm from fairfield, C). Keep a look out for me in a saga on deck, grey pants, smith ios, and k2 domains. I'd be down to shred with some fellow NS'rs as all my friends that I ski with are snowboarders and arnt very good. Need someone to push me ahahah.

Ok I'm really bored, just wanna ski ....

So a nice mellow set-up lift tower, somewhere on Toms, with the sides of it like a tranny, then the landing, and not too far (or too close) to the landing a small roller or jump. Just seems like a fun little feature.

hmm....for some reason I like roller more than jump...then if you can get enough speed (on Tom's it would be hard unless it's the right place) you can try and gap from the tower to the down side on the roller....hmm.

Yeah, that officially sounds awesome! I was thinking roller too, I liked those 3 on Toms earlier last year too.

Toms was so fun to lap, I hope you guys put in some easier features on stinger since Toms takes longer to open, please!

We didn't really put many hard things up last season until after Tom's opened...we'll see, won't know any park layouts until WAY closer to the season (we'll have a better idea when snowmaking starts where we'll stand). But ideally (in my head at least) Stinger is where the bigger, burlier, and more technical things will go, while Tom's will hopefully be filled with smaller setups, bonks, and jibs. Not saying everything on Stinger will be massive by any means, but (and this going to be a HORRIBLE comparison cause it'll be NOTHING close to the level they do it) think of Stinger as Gulch and Tom's as Nitro (but again, not even to that extent) where Toms is fun to lap and goof around and do dumb stuff on, while Stinger is where you go when you want to hit something a little bigger, and possibly scarier (but again, it's by no means going to be Gulch). Hopefully that's not confusing, haha.

Yeah that makes since. I was just saying since Toms wont be open when Sundown first does, don't just put the big features on Stinger, because it's not just the really experienced park guys who go on Stinger opening weekend (Maybe even longer depending how long it takes to make a nice base on Toms).

Because then I will have nothing to hit :(

Okay last drawing sorry haha.

This would also be pretty tight IMO, long flat box, to 2 of those blue barrels you guys have, to a possibly small down box? If you guys had features like this on Toms it would be mega legit!!

Basically just a box on it's side so there a bank on one side. Wanna make it even better? Whole new feature with banks on both sides, could be set flat or upward. (pretty sure its been suggested before)

What would you guys (realistically) like to see? Keeping in mind, it's gotta be set up as a flat and needs to fit on our 20ft trailer. Not sure if Jarrod already has plans (haven't talked to him about it yet), but ideas never hurt.

Lift tower would fit....but it is ridiculously heavy so getting back on the trailer after the jam would be pretty much impossible...maybe for the Sundown jam we can bring that out since we'll have heavy machinery to help.

Avon Day is gonna be a 16 foot flat bar, and we're bringing a 10 footer too... possibly a suprise feature.

That lift tower is heavy enough to be bad for our snow cats to pick up... dont think brendans been doing dead lift squats all summer, so we're gonna keep the features light.

James and i decided we didnt want the box. it's been out enough times and will get converted to a mini park feature in due time.

No promises, but i think its time we discuss a new portable feature.

Rules are... Less than 20 feet long, light enough for 2 people to pick up, less than 2 feet tall, needs to stand on its own...

Draw up some pics and we'll move forward.

Todays jam looked sick, I had other plans and couldn't go.

But.... Next weekend is quite possibly the best of the year, mad hyped for that !

Whens the suburban sports jam supposed to end this weekend? I was maybe going to go but i have sat's until like 1 and its about a 1 hour drive from me, so i probably wouldnt be able to get there until 2 or so.

@ Suburban Sports Rail Jam is Saturday.

Morsel Munk's is lining up perfectly... then the Ski Sundown event here at the hill on Oct. 27th... Suggestions for this?

November brings us Colorado Ski Shops Mega Event on 11/3

an added mystery session on 11/17

Then our Simsbury Celebrates / Litchfield rail jam weekend of doom....11/25 +11/26

Mystery Session details later, right now it's just an idea

hey guys how much is a lift ticket here?

how much is a seasson pass? what if i'm a part time student?

i don't think i can do the mt snow pass again =(

All the info you need is on the website: http://skisundown.com/

There are a lot of different options based on when/how often you plan on going. If you decide on a pass, try and get it before 10/31 to save a good chuck of cash on it.
