Ski Sundown 11-12 Thread

It's freakin sick. Tonight was perfect, and every feature (on toms at least) was priiiime. But imo you can take the very last rail out, just the rail... And keep it a tiny little jump. Or just a new feature in general there.

new starting Thursday. "30 THursdays" 30 dollar 8-hour (start anytime) tickets with a $3 draft happy hour starting at 3pm.

Toms this weekend was SO FUN, this new park looks really bad, like really.

At least for me, imo. The lift tower before was set up perfectly I though, as well as the flat 16 and the first 2 rail at the bottom.. and the first down box ahaa..

Sorry for sounding like a little bitch..

Did you guys REALLY want the lift tower to stay the same for the rest of the season???

It was fun...but I think it got old fast...most of the time I never hit it and would just gap the whole thing. The speed required to hit it made the most trickable rail we have basically untrickable (besides spins out, or if your really comfortable with spinning on cause you have to go mac 3 into it). Even though it was a fun setup, I still (and probably always will) think that the best, most versatile setup for that rail is as a slight down.

Also (slightly unrelated to the "lift tower rage of 2012"...but still relevant), you guys have to remember that Tom's is the easiest way down the hill, so having kids BOMB down the trail, cutting people off (and sometimes landing on/near little kids), in order to hit a rail is a problem. In Tom's park riders DO NOT have the right of way, the kids learning to ski DO (that includes the kids jumping off the side of features...they're using the features the way THEY want to use them, and if they fall, don't hit the rail while they're trying to get up, if someone hit the rail and fell would you still hit the rail...?), so remember that while you're on the trail, watch out for kiddies and if you see someone in the way either STOP and wait, or skip the feature and hit it next run (it takes like 5 mins to get back there, it's not worth squashing a small child to hit a rail). We like Tom's, it's easier to work with than Stinger and really fun to have a park on, we'd like to not lose it as a park trail...

Thank GOD this kid gets some karma, always being a little dick on and off the mountain, he may be some-what good at boarding but he is ALWAYS making fun of people who aren't as good as him. Words cannot describe how happy I am.. holy sheeit.

this dude is an exception for sure. It's as goofy as ever here. coming down Mr. HG Skis or what? 55 and sunny today.

Where? and When?

I was skiing both parks all day and didn't see any problems. It was sugar, which is VERY difficult to deal with (I know the box landing hand an issue...but I worked on it every time I went down Tom's and it would just blow out again in a few runs). There's only so much we can do with sugar sadly...we were kinda hoping for warm mush to really be able to lock everything in place with salt...but that didn't happen.

what brendan said... plus, tell a liftie. they pass along messages to us all the time. the snow type is hard to work with, but you should know that we do actually give a fuck. so let your concerns be heard by tracking down a terrain attendant or leave a message with a liftie.

The end of the lift tower rail was pretty scary last night, but I hear you on the "working with sugar snow" aspect. On the other side of things, the s-rail is SO mint.
