Ski Sundown 11-12 Thread

stay tuned. i dont make these decisions until snow's on the ground, and since that doesnt fall from the sky anymore we'll have to wait till hte guys are done making it.

Anyone on here got a voucher they wanna sell/hook it up with?? I'm home till monday and would love to get a good old deez sesh in but don't have $55 to spend.

Websites getting worked on. Mountain opens at 8am for the Holiday week. Setup will be better known in the morning (due to snowmaking we have to take everything out and put it back out in the morning, so sometimes things change). Check the Facebook page in the morning to better know what the setup will be.

im able to put photos to FB from my phone, so it's easier to get the updates there.

Snowmaking is both the best and most annoying thing ever. we need the snow, so we're unable to have a lot on hte trail. looks good for next week to do some proper work on Stinger and Tom's. If you want the update, take some runs with us, and we'll share our ideas and would love to listen to yours. It's your park as much as it is ours. That said, we don't like to boast about work that has yet to happen.

I have gas.

Tom's - stall, doublebarrel down, hip, c box, bonk, flat rail, down rail, flat rail (rollers coming soon)

Stinger - FDF, Jump (table top, about 20 feet) hitching post, round rail and double barrel rail as flat bars, dfd rail.

complete and total rearrange coming after this next snowmaking session. we drink coffee

yea... i dont like claiming, and i feel weird for even mentioning that to you and Nate the lifty, but seriously have high hopes for this cold snap.

thanks for your paitence kids. its been a bitch with the weather.

Just wondering if there are any low boxes/flat rails for beginners currently setup. Im looking to venture into realm of rails but am looking for beginner stuff.

Park staff is all pretty pent up agro at the momment. Please bare (bear)? with us as we make as much snow as possible during this short opportunity. we started pushing a second jump (they're gonna start small) and will have more time tomorrow to try to get both those good, and a third one started. as well as set up some more jibs on stinger.

Tomorrows todo list includes, but depends on crazy factors, 1) make toms sick. 2) keep stinger closed as long as possible and add features. I'd like to see the FDF moved uphill, with a feature after it before the steep. instead of widening hte trail, im gonna add to pole jams on the steep... then, big red as a down into our jump line. on the "slope style side" we're gonna do his/her's options until we run out of snow... hten we wait for snow makers again....

again, we're playing weather / equipment games right now. the goal is... a fucking shit ton of fun for the weekend.

honest park staff report - wait til weekend for maximum features.

Its alright, you've said it enough that im sure everyone here understands lol. Sounds like itll be a jolly ol' time this weekend

blown up hydro line on a cat last night + snowmaking means we got a super super late start. moved fdf, added unbow and a pole jam.

we'll try again in the AM for the Tom's + stinger work

I went yesterday with ski club, hip on toms is so fun.

But the fact that toms had 0 features was lame-o. And most features on stinger were difficult except for the 2 flat rails that had about 30 kids hiking it.

Other than that, park was sick, like the rollers. Make shit for not so good park rats.

you came on a transition day... sorry about that.

Tom's currently has a flat box/stall, double barrel low to the ground down rail, the hip with a better drop in, a flat box, a bonk, the lift tower, a flat rail and some rollers. more coming tomorrow.

stinger currently has a fdf rail, the unbow(sweet), pole jam, big red as a down, two rollers (hopefully jumps tomorrow) a big dfd, a small dfd, the fd box, and a skinny rail set up flat. with, hopefully more going in next week.

the way big red is set up is so fucking sketch. throw the tube rail that was in the park somewhere so i can get my 2's on.

Big Red is set up to be...well, big. You need about zero speed to hit it, go slow, the jump puts you exactly where you need to be. Tube is on Tom's.

@SkiSundown on Twitter for pics of the features. we're up to 20. taking time off tomorrow then back to adding stuff Wednsday AM.

looks wet for thursday... which means everyone's favorite game starts all over again.. which features get removed for Snowmaking.....

No, it's false....

it was only a dub10...

Evan's crazy, set a cork 10 harder than normal, ended up being a dub cork 10...he washed it out, but he's going to be trying it again tomorrow...cause he's nuts....oh yeah, did I mention it was his first hit of the day...?

we're gonna clean up after snowmakers, build a bumps course for the comp and develope a push plan for a slope style course for the colorado ski shop event, feb 4

Tom's Treat now features 50% more awesomeness!

Everything (on both trails) has been cleaned up/redone after snowmaking, nothing added on Stinger yet (gotta wait till after bump comp this weekend). Tom's is the same, plus 2 more hips, a spine/bonk, and the bottom rails are back to where they were before snowmaking (if not better), don't forget about those hidden booters at the bottom...

perfect packed powder... like, best since last year perfect packed powder. Bumps are still on Exhibition. Mini park got pleanty of love last night from snow cats. re-shaped a bunch of features. Park crew will be doing "keep the flow" filming sessions on Tom's complete with gift cards from local area shops. get stoked. @fattys @sartorious @easternmountainsports @REI @Fattrax

sorry to just quote the fb page.... but yea, im going skiing

Got my pass back

It shouldn't have been so hard to get it back either.. and it shouldn't have been taken for so long, a tad rediculous if you ask me.

But back to skiing in this thread... S-rail could use a rebuild imo. Its way too buried in the beginning and needs a better lip
