Ski backwards alot??

So after skiing 8 of the 10 days of my spring break i found that i generally love to ride switch... alot. I think it might because ive been hurt alot this season so i havent progressed much in the park, so i just rock around riding switch all day. and the thing is, ive gotten pretty good, i am just as comfortable going down switch as i am regular. Has this happened to anyone else??

i was at stratton all last week, i love skiing backwards by new york and the arm pit state people cutting them off switch like they do to me when they ski foward

i've come to the conclusion that the best way to piss off old people on the slopes is to blow by them real fast carving backwards.

don't get me wrong, i dont try to piss people off. it wasn't my intention, but it sure happens from time to time.

My favorite though is when i'm skiing switch on beginner trails, and ski patrol yells at me. one lady was like "you're going to hurt someone in here. this is a LEARNING area." so i said, well i'm in the right place. i'm learning to ski backwards...how am I any more of a danger than someone learning to ski regular? we both have a high probability of crashing...

Yeah just wait until you get really good at carving switch. Doing quick carves switch is the most fun you'll have.

I love going down switch on trails that have alot of bigginers... You just cruise by them and their just like "WOW HES SKIING BACKWARDS!"

What I love to do, when a racer cuts me off and is carving like a maniac, I'd go ski in from of him, ollie a huge 180 like 1-2 meters in front of him and then carry on fakie smiling right back at him...

I love riding fakie...

I noticed, in France if you ride fakie people smile, find it amusing and compliment you.

In Switzerland, they just look emotionless, like, pretending they don't see it.

In Austria I get profanities yelled at me when I ride fakie.

I always turn my music off if I'm riding switch on a run with a lot of beginners so I can hear what people yell at me. It always makes me laugh to hear, "hey mom, why is that kid going the wrong way. Make him turn around."

the best feeling is carving that first run of the day fakie, getting on edge and making giant fast turns on empty hill backwards is nirvana

photographer, it is actually called fakie because on a skateboard fakie is backwards and switch in riding the opposite stance you usually ride. riding switch is quite fun

i spent a week at a hill with ym family, and the hill had no park so i jsut rode switch the whole time i can carve switch pretty good now biggest i ahve carved down was a diamond next season i am gunna try mougles switch i may end up hurting tho lol

i do that too its fun es[pecially because of the rooster tail that gets kicked upinto there face. hahah stupid racers

I had a guy come up and tell me that it made is day because i went flying past him going switch on some blue groomer. I found it quite funny.

I love it too! I've gotten really good this year. I can carve fairly good turns now. I love going by people who are having a tough time skiing regular. Some of the looks I get are priceless! I love riding under the lifts too. Some of the things I hear from people are amazing. I ripped alot of blues at Breck a few weeks ago while I was there. Haven't done any blacks yet but I'm working on it. : )

skiing switch is da bomb! I love rippin it switch past posers who think there so good at skiing cause they got like 3 inches of air

when ever im bombing a catrack to get somewhere I ski switch and when I land a trick switch I like to ski switch out of it for as long as possible

really??? you sure??? i read a lot of mags and go to many comps and i never heard that everyone just says switch. i guess it is just like cab. another sk8board term that lost its meaning in sking and snowboarding. so do tell me then what is the diff. from saying switch, fakie, or anything you feel like.

i ski switch all the time

i love skiing switch especially on my tele's thats when i get the most ooooooooooos and ahhhhhhhhhhsssss

lol

i was with the guy who taught me how to ski pretty much and he asked y i had twin tips on my skis so i told him to take a run with me. and i skied switch the whole run smiling at him and waving

I wish I could ski switch down big pow like pollard

I ski switch down most easy stuff but my rides that are twintip aren't mounted yet so i gotta be careful I almost broke my ankle landing a 180 off of a small cliff...it sucked
