he's definitely got distinct style. I like him more and more with every comp as his runs keep getting more technical. But I do agree that he needs at least one switch hit and a grab on his bigger spins. I can't help but think that Dumont's days as a halfpipe god are numbered since switch hits and unnat spinning are getting more and more important.
 
Remember way back when. 9s in the Pipe were hucked. Give it a year and Simon will grab his 12. He almost had it at ... either Squaw or at PC cant remeber which vid it was. But I do agree skipping your last hit is pretty gay
 
He might lack the technicality of unnatural and switch spins, but he has the difficulty points to outweigh it. He knows what hes good at and sticks to it, which is going huge and doing crazy shit. When he stops winning everything Im sure he will change up his run, but why change a run that you win tons of cash with?

Simon has tons of style...just not in his comp runs. I definitely agree that his Ski Tour runs are lame and dont deserve to win, but I thought his movie segs were pretty steezy last year.

omg his 1260s are steezy!! how about his tweaked out grabs and double grabs in his other hits?? and when he's not competeing he has way more style too, but lets face it the judges wanna see hucked 12s not stylish 10s and home boys gotta make that skrilla

he lacks grabs on most hits, any unnatural spins, any alleyoop shit, and any switch hits. i dont think that hucking yourself an extra 180 without a grab and going a few feet higher should win over switch hits and unnatural hits.
 
no! watch the video and take notice that not only does he not grab, he just plain makes no effort to even go for a grab.
 
You stupid fuck. I'm not claiming that I could do better, but what's the point in doing a trick, if you can't make it look good. I could throw a 10 off a 35 footer, but I don't want to, because I know it would look like shit. Simon should realize that he looks like tufflemeyer, and what he is doing is driving the sport backwards.
 
He may not grab in the pipe but he spins a lot and boosts HUGE - no one else goes as big as Simon. As for jumps, I think it was in Ski Porn! where he does the sickest cork 5 ever at the Candide Invitational. Thats probably my favorite trick in the whole movie
 
And he holds that grab for how long? I'm not saying I could grab a 12 any better, but fuck, if you are going make a trick look good, don't do a 12 so you can only tap the end of your ski
 
im not saying he even got the grab cuz i dont think he did. Just that he attemped it. You said "he just plain makes no effort to even go for a grab." which is not true.

 
shut the fuck up. seriously, such a sick trick i'm sure some sweet grabs will be thrown in soon. dumont is such a big inovator of style in the ski industry. nice tweeked mutes. corked 5 or 9 truckdriver to mute 22 feet up in the pipe. think about how popular the truckdriver is/was and he probly has some of the most stylie ones of all skiers.
 
He's becoming more legit, he actually did a grab on his 12 at squaw and on his flat 10.
