Sick trippy griptape art

So i started putting this on an old bamboo sector 9 deck. Started doing it then was like i'm going to document it!
It's only like 25% done but i'll keep updating it as i go. basically i gotta put on more grip and i gotta paint it.
Also with the self portrait i may cut the top off and make it so it looks like everyting on the grip design is coming out of my head.
all of it is free hand.

fucking with the black and whites of it and making this

where i then taped a paper to the screen and traced it
to where i taped the tracing and taped it up to the griptape and cut it using an exacto knife. the more detailed parts like the face were all free hand.

so now i gotta finish the grip design then paint it!!! can't wait!

I'm gunna make a sick janky pipe coming out of my head and have like a horn shape opening dumping all of the stuff you see out its going to be dope.

So this thread hasn't had much traffic but i'm proud of my work so i'm going to keep updating it til its done.
I got into really small pieces today and its getting better. I'm really really fiending to paint it up though. It'll be the ultimate piece when its painted but check it!

that is fucking sick, I've painted a stick of butter on my longboard's griptape haha
 
I really like this cause its just so creative. Its something i would want hanging in my room
 
Well I do sell them. This is just an old deck though so kindof a personal piece. But i put designs on new fresh decks. I've done a few where I painted the bottom then put on a sick grip design so it's like a full 3 dimensional piece. But i usually do grips then have people hang them up.
If anyone wants one done PM me they aren't cheap but if you want it special i can incorperate just about anything into them, I do them cheaper too for if you don't wanna hang them on a wall and rather ride around on them. But i usually only do that with long boards because the feet are more static while you ride. On a regular skateboard the grip design would just get fucked.
But yeah PM me if someone wants this done. have a piece of art that you can show off, or a piece of art you can cruise on.
 
thats tight as fuck! haha i probably wouldn't even skate that if i were you, I'd be worried about the griptape peeling on all those small corners.
 
I'd say one more update on the actual grip tape design after this and i can start painting! But it's almost done i really dig the eyeball though.

I will make an NS/ skiing related/ mountain related one next and we can get extra hyped off it!
 
You should paint your hair and the cap of your head another colour so it stands out easier because right now from far away it kind of blends in but it's still hella dope can't wait to see the final outcome.
 
The bust of me is going to stay black the top of the head and the hinge. It'll be the only black thing on the whole deck. But thanks for the advice I appreciate it muchacho and I appreciate the positive feed back!
 
Well it won't be done til probably tomorrow around noon unless I buckle down for the rest of the night. And I'll get it done about midnight or so west coast. But I would say about four days? Idk whenever I posted it was the first day of it. But total working hours is say maybe 6 to 8 hours ish? I cut out every piece individually and make sure it fits how I want and I just create it on the fly none of its planned and to the people who were skeptical of the triangle square and circle I was also second guessing that I never start these pieces like that but I wanted to change up this was an experimental personal piece anyway so I thought what the heck but I'm really feeling this one! Again if anyone wants one done for their long board or skate I will pm me I can do art pieces like this that aren't really meant to ride or I can do rideable designs that are still super sick! Pm of you're interested
 
So i started the painting and it looks really sick. and i have maybe like 5% oof the deck done hahaha but i am not going to post the progress just the finished product but its going to be dope. check back in sunday and it should be done!
 
I saw the first picture, and I was like wow this sucks. Then the pictures started getting cooler. It ended up being so sick. That's really dope.
 
That's really sick man. Something I have been wanting to try for a long time. Really like the way you incorporated yourself into the piece.
