The industry has gone through some huge changes over the past decade when it comes to effort being put into freestyle terrain programs. Lots of resorts have stepped up to the plate to offer legitimate parks for their guests and lots of resorts are still living in the stone age.

Is your tiny hill have a terrible park?

Are you forced to ride rusty/bent scrap metal rather than a proper box or rail?

Show me the worst park or park features still in existence today.

Coffee Mill had probably the worst terrain park in existence last year. Nearly everything was unhittable. I'm in charge of the terrain park there this year though, so hopefully things change. I don't have any pictures but the best rail there was an 8ft "flat" rail that was bent to shit and the paint was chipped off everywhere

Come to pebble creek idaho. Where we lack snow, terrain parks, and nice amenities. But we do have an abundance of rocks, awesome locals, and good times. CHEERS

im another pc local, and legit they stick a 3ft high box rail with no jump. the rail ( singular )has so many burs and dings it will rip your edges out, and as mentioned above, lots and lots of rocksm, but a very fun time

Yeah haha. I love the hill tho. It's nice to have to be creative and not have a crowd when skiing.

Greek peak will take the cake on this one always lol

What's the story with Greek Peak? I've heard of it but what kind of program do the have? Actual park crew? Volunteers? Decent snow cats? Competent management? In house made or catalog bought park features?

Mount Jore used to have a really god-awful park until a couple of years ago when they really slowly started making improvements.

Chester Bowl MN, It has like 1300 feet elevation but is actually really fun now with the random rails they have.

peb is bad but nothing is as bad as kelly canyon.

Mt Rose. This video is almost 10 years old and this box is still in use.

Tons and tons of potential but upper management doesn't see it. It's amazing how much a decent park can dictate the type of people that purchase passes. It's not fun skiing somewhere that has multiple double black runs and fast chairlifts when the mountain markets their business solely to crabby old folk and people in San Francisco(asians). /endrant

That fricken awesome!!

My local hill pats peak nh is definitely not the worst but their landings are flat as shit and sometimes have straight up moguls all over them. Then they tried to be creative and put the best rail they had on the side of a null, let it get buried and then forgot it was there after they closed and the groomer broke it while dismantling the park.

Also fun fact, it's rumored by park staff that the park groomer does coke on the job.

You could get some of the sickest edits out of that place. Like B&E on their inspired tour showing insane tricks on shit features.

Seriously. There seems to be some real potential there but that in run to the park looks treacherous as fuck.

Seriously has anybody been to mt Ashland in southern oregon. I'm pretty sure it's the worst terrain park ever. We have have like three rails and everything is not made very well.

they seem like they are at least trying with stuff like that last pic but that park could use some serious love

OH MY GOD YES. THIS IS MY PARK. I live in Alexandria MN and this is Andes Tower Hills. I went there everyday after school! Caught edge so many times attempting that C-box resulting in many concussions. I'm so happy you put this in here thank god. I'm glad everyone can see what horrible conditions I have been forced to ski in for like 4 years!!!! ANDES BLOWS

Was there for closing day 2 years back, they had a super sketchy kicker, and bent rails made out of road signs. They did have a lift tower rail that was dope and also all their homemade boxes end to end and that was alright

i can vouch for this kid, you know its bad when they advertised it as the "junkyard park"

Black mountain in maine. Me and a coupke of friends were there for a nordic race and saw the park crew fucking with this wooden table feature for hours,we eventually just helped advise them on putting their 1 box in and left

My home mountain's features are not that bad compared to some of these other places, but for some reason they let one guy on park crew, the guy who enjoys boosting over every feature, rake all of the lips every morning, so he makes the lip like 6 inches hire than every box. It's annoying as shit

Dude I hit that Wooden table, was quite rad if you did not stick or catch edges. that being said for the same drive you could go to titcomb and ski decent park. I am on park crew there and we are gearing up for our second year with a park of over 10 features. If you want to check it out PM me or get some details on our facebook page!

You job huntin TL? I was kind of doing the same thing through some of the threads people were posting about "______ has a terrible park"

Any place can have a good park if they have the features, or have the budget, and management aren't total douchers.

They used to have a pretty sweet park in the mid to late 90's. They seem to be trying again the last few years but they're clueless on what to do. The picture of that super super steep down flat rail goes to show. Went there this year and there was a 10' gap onto an aframe rail, and the front of the rail and takeoff were like 6" off the ground. How the fuck was that supposed to work

Gore mountain in ny is sketchy at best

For sure.

They have the money, they could put it into the park budget, unlimited snowmaking potential, good park real estate, brand new PB fleet, good crowd including people in the park even though their park has blow for a long time.

I put 2 years into that place. Biggest waste of time ever. Would be cool to see somebody competent run their park but they're comfortable right now and they don't feel any reason to change. At least johara seemed to have gotten better in the cat. But they have the ability to have a SICK park there yet they've only been able to achieve a kind of decent park depending on what features you look at. Some shit there is straight sketch.
