i know this has been posted like a million times but after every time i ski my shins hurt so fuckin bad. I have teneighty boots and im not usually in the backseat. any suggestions?

I am pretty sure that shin bang is from having to loose of boots not from vise versa. The reason that your shins hit the front of your boot is because your heels are lifting, it might be time for new boots, or just to tighten them more. I also share the same problem with a pair of salomon boots, could it be that their boots suck as bad as their bindings. Hahahahah who am I kiding nothing is as bad as salomon bindings, execpt maybe markers.

the reason you are getting shin splints is cuz you arn't landing right. you might not realise it, but I will guarantee that you are landing slightly back seat. this is what causes shin splints. I had them so bad a few years ago that I could hardly walk, and I couldn't ski at all. it sucked. I went to physio, and that didn't do a thing... then I tried ski boarding, cuz I couldn't ski... and I learned to land jumps on those things cuz if you land back seat you fall on your ass - so I learned to land on my feet... then I went back to skis, and I haven't had and shin problems since.... so yea... just learn to land your jumps... ski boards are the best thing for it... oh, and landing fakie doesn't hurt the shins either.

There are two types of shin bang

Lower shin bang:

This is caused when your heel lifts out of the boot and causes your lower shin to collide

with the inside of the boot. Tighten down that third buckle to keep your heel in place or try a heel lift

in your boot. When you land in the back seta this also happens a lot

Upper Shin bang

This is caused by landing to far forward i.e. switch landings. Tighten that third buckle down till your heel can't move around

This helps your shins and helps push energy into your skis making turning easier.

Ive suffered from both but i put a heel lift in and the problems have gone away

Also become a kick boxer and kick a wooden post till you deaden the nerves in your shins. I heard that works too

cool cool i actually tried tightening my boots and it helped a lot i cant figure out how to land d-spins without being in the backseat that killed.

go buy a replacement power strap for your boots. These can really help you tighten down your boots and keep your feet from moving around.

Shin Bang Sucks, it usually ruins my whole week of skiing after the first day...

what I wanna know is what boot is the best to avoid it?
