I just got some new boots and was trying them out today and noticed that when i landed off of a jump, shin bang occured and it hurt like a bitch.

How do i make it so shin bang happens less often or not at all or simply just not hurt as much?

pull your socks up, tuck in your bottom layer but make sure its not bunched up that will make it worse

tighten the second buckle down a little more than the top

thats all i got

u have to experiment sometimes.

i like to have my boots just snug. and not to tight that i cant flex the boot. if u can flex and its snug that should help

ive gotten it so bad that sometimes when i landed my legs started shaking uncontrolably and it hurt so much. i had to go in and just wait it out . im gonna try the sponge, i think it would work

I got it last year, it sucked deez. What I did was wear thick socks, use thin socks to pad my leg between my boot and my shins, as well as tighten my boots a ton. If you tighten your boots a lot and it persists, pad it some how. If you wanna drop some cash get booster straps, my friend has them and he says they work wonders.

Personally I'm so glad I have salomon boots, I kissed shinbang goodbye when I got them.

My friend had shin pads from soccer and you could take the pad out to wash and stuff, and he said he tried it in his boot and it worked

Yea, I have padded shin socks, those work very well. Just some sort of padding between your boots and the shins would help significantly. Tighten up your boots too.

me too. i almost made this thread cus its pissing me off so much. one thing that did help me alot though was i got these inserts and theyre perty soft. i still land backseat and it still hurts alot but whatever

go get some like shin protecters from the drug store and cut out the part that hurts so its takes the presure of the place u usual get it

I get it no matter how tight my boots are.

I always have, even last year with different boots, and with rentals.

StartFragmentIf youwalk on your heals for a while you develop your shin muscles. Alsoyou can buy this stuff called Arnica Gel, which is just a homeopathic gel thathelps with pain. Other than that ice your shins after skiing.EndFragment

booster straps, tighten your boots, take the screw out in the back if possible, take them to a boot specialist, hell know what to do to get them more flex

shin bangs nothing,you should see the pain i have to go through with my boots. every time i going skiing my fucking right toe swells up,and it dose`int help that i`ve got a screw missing from the side of my boot eather.

have some custom insoles made at your local shop and then have the liner heat formed as well. tighten your buckles down snug and secure the power strap until you cant pull it any harder. if those dont work, get a booster strap!

shin bang happens most not because of impact with your boot but because of overstretching ur shin muscles whatever they are by landing backseat, land jumps right and get

BOOSTER STRAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^boosters = no shin bang. end of story.

booster straps help but landing backseat will always hurt no matter what, unless we go back to soft shell boots

this sounds crazy but shaveing ur shines is wut get rid of shine bang.... i had shine bang the first day of skiing this year and i was sooo pist of becus it wouldent go away, then i got told to shave my shines and its gloyious results.. its somthing to do with the hair being rubbed again the front of ur boot ware ur shines rest against them.. so try this out and PM me with the results it does.. and dont land backseat and tighten ur boots!

i disagree i ride my boots tight on the bottm loose at the top

it helps aton and dont land back seat haha

Your Mistakes-

shaveing=shaving

shines=shins

pist=pissed

of=off

becus=because

wouldent=wouldn't

gloyious=glorious

somthing=something

ware=where
