Shin Bang?

You know whats great...

not only do I get shin bang...

I also get. . . . toe bang?

Well, my toes hurt just as much.

and it sucks.

stand on your heals and lift your toes up really high over and over, just in normal shoes like a work out that you've most likely seen people do befor, it strangthens that muscle so shin bang will happen less when you do that as well

dude I hope you're either drunk or retarded becuase that's the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Word on the street is that if you shave your ass it won't hurt when you fall on it.

I had horrible shin bang one year and the thing that worked for me was to get a little bit smaller boots and tighten them all the way so you shin doesn't move side to side. Also if you have shin bang now and your shins are swelling up and hurt like a bitch, ice them a lot and you need to strengthen them when your not skiing. It helped me a ton and my shins rarely hurt now

i tried the walking on your heels excercise, but it just made my lower legs tired. so i made this strap that lifts my toes for me, now its super easy to excercise. hopefully it will help.

Booster Straps work wonders. But if you land backseat or ski in the backseat, none of us can do much to help you until you start leaning forward and skiing there.

If there is a rivet on the stock strap, use a drill or some pliers to break it off. You and also drill a hole in the plastic and then use a small screw or bolt and thread it into the plastic, just be careful not to overtighten it and strip out the plastic.

i had shin bang in my rampages, then i just put my orthopedic foot beds and i cut out about a 8 inch section of a temperpedic(sp?) mattress cover and then cut that in half so there is a little 4X4 inch pad of temperpedic foam in between my shins and tongue and that helps my foot not move around in my boot because i have skinny shins...Tightening your boot doesn't always work, in some cases it makes it worse, but keeping your boots loose as fuck doenst help because you loose control...keep your boots at medium tightness and stop landing backseat i also noticed helped...and just landing switch of most things.

some one up above said that taking the rampage strap off is impossible because it is riveted on...they are lying you just rip it off and remove the nut that attempts to hold it in because it is a worthless piece in the boot because there is already a screw hope this helps

i had cronic shin bang to the point where i couldn't walk, where my legs would shake while skiing because they hurt so bad..but now because of the things listed above i can ski everyday in comfort

Your are doing too many 360s, if you land switch once in a while this wont happen. But if you want to do something other than 540's and switch 7's, get the ELIMINATORS, they are like super soft shin guards made for ski boots. I got super bad bang in the beginning of the season, bought these, and havent had any pain since.

booster straps are pretty much amazing becuase they put your boot right comfortably snugg up against your leg and you fee like you can pressure forward so much better and it gets you out of the backseat and its less likely you will get shin bang....

if you still have shin bang then you're boot is either too big, too stiff, or the flex point doesn't match your foot shape and in that case heel lifts can help you...or a pair of different boots...

ok... booster straps will help i have a set on my rampages you just drill out the rivet and replace with a new rivet any good boot fitter can do it for you, and get the recreational flex. also there are shims that you can put in the boot to reduce the room that is in the tongue area, that is what causes a majority of shin bang and well landing in the back seat

I had a dirty little case of the shin bangs last year from a terrible landing that i kept landing backseat on. so the next day i just tightened up my boots a little at the top and all the pressure went to my upper legs instead of shins. So just tighten your boots.

Right now I have the ultimate shin bang stopping set-up. Full tilts, with booster straps, cushy socks, and shintronics. JEA JEA

i try to land switch as much as i can and it really seems to work good. i know you cant always but the more you do it the less you will be banging your shins so it just slows it down
