here's the press release.

Shawnee on Delaware, PA - Shawnee Mountain is proud to introduce its new 3,000’ Terrain Park and new 400’ Half-Pipe for winter 2004/05, devoting almost the entire wide open, top to bottom, fall line Bushkill Trail to freestyle terrain.

Designed by Snow-Grind of Hanover, Maine this new 'Super Park' will incorporate multi-jumps and snow features with different take-off levels for Riders and Skiers of different ages and abilities.

For the Jib lovers, a full Rail Garden will offer appropriately placed rails for the perfect line through the Park. The rail inventory includes: a 24’ mailbox; a 24’ flat box; a 24’ rainbow rail; a 20’ C box; a 24’ flat down rail; a 20’ flat rail; a 20’ flat down flat rail; a 30’ down flat down rail; a 30’ C rail; a 20’ battleship rail and a 30’ rainbow rail.

A new 400’ Half-Pipe has been carved out near the top of the Bushkill Trail. This new Pipe will be larger, wider and steeper than Shawnee’s former Half-Pipe, giving Riders and Skiers a better transition and deck area. A new covered pavilion with fire pit has been constructed adjacent to the rail garden providing an area for gathering and viewing.

The new Terrain Park and Pipe will be serviced by and is totally visible from the 3,400’ Bushkill Double Chairlift. A top to bottom Sound System will add to the experience. A new fully automated Snowmaking System lines the new Super Park and promises dependable snow depth and the highest quality snow conditions possible.

'Whether you’re attempting your very first rail, looking to progress pipe skills you already have, or you’re a Pro Twin Tipper ready to hit full-on Super Park features, Shawnee Mountain is the place to be this winter,' said Adam DeAngelo, Shawnee’s Special Project Manager. Adam sees the new Park as a work in progress and went on to say, 'The Park’s possibilities are limitless, our development team has been given a go ahead by the owners to make Shawnee Mountain home of the Mid Atlantic regions number one Park. Shawnee Mountain welcomes any and all feedback you may have regarding the park. This is your park and we want you to be happy. Comments or suggestions can be given via e-mail at info@shawneemt.com.'

they would have to do alot of work to be the number one park in the Mid-Atlantic Region, they would have to beat out mountain creek, big boulder, roundtop, and bear which will probably never happen, all these places have been making good parks for awhile

and snow features with different take-off levels for Riders and Skiers of different ages and abilities.

thats such a bad idea... theres gonna be beginners on the same landing as the big boyz???

just why???

make different size jumps not different size takeoffs

everything else sounds sick though... if it happens

at least even shit holes like shawnee are starting to step up their parks.

you'll forgettin one thing here: its PA! You can't expect a real serious sick park coming out of this area its just that simple. The areas dont have the terrain/talent of riders/balls to make a park that rivals some of the best on the east coast. Bear creek has DONE AS MUCH as you can do with a Pa park and mt creek is just on a whole nother level as Ive said before. Shawnee Mt hav a sick park? Do those words ever get in the same sentence? For now I say it won't happen just be a lot of jibs and no flow and no decents hits. Be lets hope you never know.

Actually, different take offs are nice. I cant really explain it, but they are. JF and BB both had one last year and they were ill

shawnee's previous idea of a bad ass jump was a 15 foot tabletop, weak at best. maybe ill go there just for a good laugh or with a sled or something.

reminding me of sleds, i saw this one sled for sale in VT that you ride on your knees. on the package there was pictures of these crazy guys doin rodeos and corks and shit. now thats extreme sleddin'

ski patrol, wha wha?
