Shaun White's "did he deserve 100?" poll on ESPN

He could have left out the biggest straight of the night, but then haters would say how he need to add more style and not spin soo much on every hit. If someone else would have done the exact same run, people would be shocked and say that it deserves a 100. But people expect perfection from Shaun White so they try to find every flaw possible. Its not judged on the person, its judged on the tricks. Nuff said

a 100 in any year should not be achievable though. it leaves absolutely NO room for improvement for any of the other runs. i know he was last blah blah blah, but its not right to me. i agree that a run worth 90points one year may be worth 86 the next or so, but a true 100 is fictional. how do you define LITERALLY perfect? it wasn't shaun white's run, however good that it was.

there were a lot of comments on the ESPN site and i assume a lot of people here who think that he scored 100%, which is wrong, he scored 100, which, while it is the most you can get, has a different meaning.

AND BESIDES THAT, HE ALREADY WON.

who cares, it was a glory run, how many people tear shit up like that after they have already won. shows his dedication to the sport, not just to winning.

The fact is Shaun White is 100% on another level.

First he fell on his victory lap in the Semis doing a straight air and was definitely pissed about that.

Second he fell on his second run on the last hit and definitely wanted to have some redemption.

Third he slayed everyone and was on top going into yet another victory lap, and layed down the best run of his life.

People should be giving it up for White, SNOWBOARD ROCKSTAR!

this is not about shaun white and his skill set, it's about whether the judging was appropriate or not.

This is pretty much the best summary of most people's problem with the score, mine included.

100 implies that a better run (on that given day, in that given pipe, etc.) would've been impossible—it implies perfection. I think Shaun himself would admit that he could've cleaned the run up, executed it better, increased his amplitude, etc. The point is that it wasn't a perfect run, no way no how, and that despite whatever anyone else is saying, it was pretty obviously a transparent grab at publicity and hype for both White, ESPN, X, etc.

I understand and appreciate that scores are handed out relatively with 70's being average, 80's being good, and 90's being excellent.....I agree that White's run was a sight better than everyone else's, but the truth is that he was scored 94 with a run that included 3 fucking straight airs...that was the real issue.

A 99...99.50.....both would've been acceptable in my eyes. Really, anything other than 100 would've been understandable.

this makes zero sense.....he literally earned 100% of the possible 100 points.....He earned a perfect score.

What does that even mean? No one thinks it was a fucking math test, man.

man you dumb!

take the name out of the equation, subtract points for a straight air, subtract points for an obvious hand drag, there you go your at 98 tops!

Whoa, whoa, slow down there, big guy. Looks like in your haste to write something witty you accidentally dropped a donut on the keyboard instead of typing out a complete sentence.

*care and *poll on noes i made a couple typos, you're still the idiot trying to defend the popular name of shaun white.

And for the record, anyone defending Shaun White getting a 50 is blatantly lying to themselves. There was room for improvement on the run by 2012 standards. Anyone talking about how the 5-peat has anything to do with getting a 100, is also lying to themselves or retarded. Yes, it's a great storyline (Thanks ESPN), but should that affect his score? No.

No because tall ass skinny kids always think fat jokes are funny because they're so much better than fat people when in reality they may be less healthy.

Heath stop being drawn into arguments with 15 year olds. Its exactly what they want. You are better than that

I normally disagree with eheath on stuff but you're kinda a fucking douchebag...it seems like you need to learn when to stop talking.

...because I was oh, so serious! And to the guy above me: if you think I'm a douchebag, then I'm clearly doing something right. Don't take the internet so seriously, bruh.

It's actually amazing how many people will believe what they read on the internet. Hey, I'm actually a 5'9" 100 pound blonde chick with round tits, a firm ass, and a perfect face. Wanna chat later?

besides that^ being a bit creepy in an effeminate way, making fun of eheath is still funny in a nostalgic kinda way, but overall not cool

eheath have you ever tried going to the gym? i mean no hate on fat people, but isnt it hard to get laid??
