Shaun White ends Sponsorship with Red Bull

No energy drink has more money than Red Bull. They may have enough to pay him more for a while but I highly doubt that'll hold up for very long.

DUMBASS MOVE LOL

he's obviously buying a ski resort and starting his own energy drink to monopolize in said ski resort.

We have a friend who is a ginger and after she had relations with my good friend Andy, we joke about a drink called "Ginger Squirt"

I understand why someone would pick up an energy drink sponsor for the money. But as far as drinking that crap everyday on and off the slopes doesn't make sense to me. Energy drinks from my experience have such a poor effect on skiing.

A lot of the energy drink companies also make water in a can that looks like an energy drink but isn't. So you may see someone drinking a redbull or monster but it might really just be a fresh can of water. Although, the canned water gets a weird aluminum taste. I'm not a fan.

"That contract was valued at more than $1 million annually"i wonder how much bobby or tanner is making from them. Shaun is an olympic athlete so i am sure that is a factor

I don't care but yesterday when they interviewd him he looked like not well like he had been gettin into speed. His face was all sunken in and shit. He looked gross. Before someone says you can't be a pro and do speed. Christian hosoi. A much better skater than shaun white was addicted to speed for quite some time.

Honestly didn't really see this coming. Red Bull is so ubiquitous that it's impossible to not watch a film or event without catching a glimpse of the logo on someone's gear or on advertising.

Shawn White's asking for 3 times his original deal - which correct me if I'm wrong I presume is above the going rate for other athletes contracts - kind of smacks of arrogance. Yeah, he's one of the top, if not the best, snowboarders in the world. However, I think Red Bull has made a smart decision as snowboarding and freeskiing is getting bigger than just one athlete so not giving him a new contract will in the long run end up being a good decision on their part allowing them to sponsor more athletes, films and events without having to rely on one single rider.

wow what a fucking dick he is. they back him for his own halfpipe and this is how he repays them? wow, just wow

id imagine vitamin water like someone said above. they seem to be the up and up "cool" drink company now a days with a ton of bank

Not necessarily true. Without alot of energy drinks pumping money into the extreme sports industry alot of things wouldn't happen,

Seriously shut the fuck up. Boo hoo some people wanna make money. Being a poor "core" athlete is overrated. I don't necessarily like Shaun White, but he's got every right to get the best sponsorship he can get - he's at the highest level in 2 sports. Also, who knows the details about why he wants to move on - maybe his relationship with Red Bull wasn't that good.

I wouldn't go this far, being a red bull sponcerized athlete isn't really for anybody and you defiantly don't have to be sponsored by them and be making extreme amounts of money to benefit for all red bull does for the industry

True. Didn't mean to imply that. Just saying that there's nothing wrong with energy drink sponsors in general, especially if you're trying to make an actual living.

Agreed, like the JOSS edits for instance, They product placed Red Bull in most of the urban shots for winch use and free product. If Red Bull wasn't even involved with anything like this and didn't have any sponsors in the event why would they care. They are very important regardless who is making the big bucks
