funny how a real job changes things.....
I've now got a Cobb AccessPort and I'm running a stage 1 map (about 260hp) and hopefully tomorrow or the next day my downpipe will arrive (Cobb 3", cast bellmouth, high flow cat..... expensive....), and I can switch to a stage 2 map and will have 285-290hp.  In 2 weeks I'm getting on a dyno to do a few pulls and get some real numbers (not getting a protune, just want some plots!).
It already feels quite a bit faster than stock, just a lot nicer, how it should from the factory.  Stage 2 is going to be NUTS.
0-60 in 4.6 seconds!
The AccessPort for those that don't know, is a small little gadget used to reflash the ECU.  It changes fuel curves, timing, boost control, everything.  It also removes the speed limiter (not that I would EVER get close to that, ever) and it raises the rev limiter slightly.  Boost is stock level for stage 1, stage 2 boost goes up by 1 psi to 15.8psi. Rev limiter is up to 7200rpm, blah blah.  Basically I'll be as fast as an STi now.
But.... I'm out of money again, and I think I'll be leaving it as is at least until the spring, been putting way too much money into it recently.  All I need is a VF34 turbo and STi injectors to go stage 3 though, that will be more like 340hp!!!  BEAST!
