Gave my car the biggest clean of its LIFE today after skiing.

Washed outside, vacuumed the inside for like 2 hours, wiped down the whole inside, scrubbed the entire engine, cleaned the wheels/tires, I was gonna claybar and wax, but meh. Way too tired now from all that. She's purty!

picked up my new tires today, my new wheels will arrive in 2-5 days.

I'll now have 3 sets of wheels.... winter wheels, summer wheels, and autocross wheels.
 
Oh they are WICKED cool! at certain angles they are bronze, and at certain angles they go BLACK! SUCH a fucking cool color! Tires go on tomorrow morning!

Speaking of Subaru, two people in my house this year are getting '06 Subaru Impreza's; One has the 2.5i Sport Wagon in black, and the other is getting a 2.5i Sedan, in a color yet to be decided. No comment from me, except I wish I really needed and could afford a car.
 
Well.... 2 weeks ended up dwindling down to a day... I couldn't wait any longer...

So today the car got new springs (Prodrive) and a new catback exhaust (Espelir). The exhaust is 3.14" straight back, no bends. It sounds like the voice of god, it will scare your children like you don't even know.

The car is nice and low now, perfect even wheel gap and corners like a DREAM!!!

$990 for springs plus installation, and the exhaust (I installed the exhaust). We got a deal on the exhaust because my buddy bought the same exhaust for his Evo IX MR. We installed them together... mine sounds better!
 
funny how a real job changes things.....

I've now got a Cobb AccessPort and I'm running a stage 1 map (about 260hp) and hopefully tomorrow or the next day my downpipe will arrive (Cobb 3", cast bellmouth, high flow cat..... expensive....), and I can switch to a stage 2 map and will have 285-290hp. In 2 weeks I'm getting on a dyno to do a few pulls and get some real numbers (not getting a protune, just want some plots!).

It already feels quite a bit faster than stock, just a lot nicer, how it should from the factory. Stage 2 is going to be NUTS.

0-60 in 4.6 seconds!

The AccessPort for those that don't know, is a small little gadget used to reflash the ECU. It changes fuel curves, timing, boost control, everything. It also removes the speed limiter (not that I would EVER get close to that, ever) and it raises the rev limiter slightly. Boost is stock level for stage 1, stage 2 boost goes up by 1 psi to 15.8psi. Rev limiter is up to 7200rpm, blah blah. Basically I'll be as fast as an STi now.

But.... I'm out of money again, and I think I'll be leaving it as is at least until the spring, been putting way too much money into it recently. All I need is a VF34 turbo and STi injectors to go stage 3 though, that will be more like 340hp!!! BEAST!

I was actually concidering selling my car a little while ago, maybe getting an 02/03 wrx wagon(white..mmmmm) buuuut insurance wouldn't be too happy, and I could never give up the classic look... so I just have to wait until i save up $5k and get myself a real engine
 
just wanted to say hi and fuckin nice car ya got goin there... i still need to fix mine, and my buddy nick just had his wheel fall off his suby while driving causing some serious bumper, fender damage i'll post some pics some time soon (fucking government comps are a bitch to work with) hope everyone summer kick as much ass as mine and pray for snow, we already had a couple of traces at only 7000ft around here.
 
I'm now Stage 2!!!!!! The car is INSANE!!!! I would bet I'm about equal to a stock STi now, going on a dyno in 2 weeks!
 
haha, obviously wagons are way sicker, and more fuctional (I have my own outback), but just wondering whether it was still cheaper than an sti
 
Yeah, still MUCH cheaper than an STi, but the then the STi has all kinds of stuff you don't see that the normal WRX doesn't The engine is a completely different engine, not just in that its a 2.5, but its got the variable valve timing, the block can take more boost (30psi or so), its got the dccd, r180 rear diff.... much better car.

But I'm close! Time for an updated mod list!!!!

I'm still building full boost thanks to my engine management, hold 15.8psi all the way to redline (unlike your car which peaks at 14.7 or so and then tapers down to redline).

Only problem is the cabin is filling with exhaust fumes, so it smells like crap, and I'll probably pass out on my way home from work tonight. It doesn't help that I'm loaded up on dramamine and caffiene right now too........ brrrrr
 
that can fucking kill you sean, thats basicaly what the Nazis did to kill jews lock them in a bus and fill it with carbon monoxide they were just able to re rout where the bus's exaust went. our old car started to have that problem and in the end it was cheaper to get rid of it.
 
worse comes to worse, we take the upipe off and put the stock one back on. 4 hours of work.... no big deal. or maybe sean should just give it to me and i'll find some way to fix it. yeah..... sean its not worth it.... you might as well junk it. i know a guy who can take it off your hands for free. i'll give you his #
 
no thats certainly not the correct number.

besides from the sounds of it, its all better now. :( no free wagon for Kevin...... sad day
