Damn just read what happened on NASIOC... that really sucks man, I know how you feel too, I smashed my 4runner into the side of a mountain last winter, I'm trying to find the pictures of it.

I want to make something clear... I did NOT crash it in the race. It was on the way home. I got 4th place in the race! It was SOOO kick ass!

But I didn't crash in the race!

I took all the salvagable parts that I had put on (basically everything except the hood and bumper which are mangled)

Getting another Suby, just have to find one (think i may have found one)

We were supposed to hear from them yesterday, but didn't. So hopefully today. I got my ticket in the mail too, only $153 so its not too bad.

Actually the pink badge got cracked, but those are like $12 brand new. The grill however..... was an authentic STi v.5 grill.... not exactly replacable. Its destroyed (whole top is broken off).

But the cabin held up like a roll cage, thank god for the Subaru engineers, they built a fucking safe car.

If you simply pay it or mitigate it you are admitting that the accident was your fault.

So 3 years down the road one of the other assholes that was involved in that accident might say "well shit, my back sure hurts and you were partly at fault for that accident so now you owe me money hyuk!"

My roomate was in a collision with a dumptruck and apparently caused 40,000 dollars in damages. The officer ticketed him "even though he was almost dead" and he simply paid it. Now the dumptrucks insurance company is suing him for 30,000 dollars in damages that his insurance company didn't cover.

I agree about contesting it... even if you do have to pay full price, atleast they'll never have anything on paper saying you know you were at fault.

You'd need a super car to avoid what I couldn't avoid, haha.

But you guys are probably right, perhaps I will contest it.

Looking at quite a few cars now. Right now I'm thinking I might just let my parents help me out a little more (they seem more willing now) and get an RS. I've found a few that are decently priced. Then it wouldn't be like I was starting over, just going from where I left off on the 2.2. Plus the 2.5 would be kick ass AND the sunroof!

Right now the best car I've found is a guy from the boards with a 99 RS, black coupe. Just like my car. Its tinted, has nice coilovers, nice exhaust, nice intake. Great car. 96k miles, which is a bit much. But its a nice ass car!

If he goes for the 9K, I say go for it... that would be a sweet car!

But knowing what I know now... I would probably start with an L and build it up.

 
Dammit why do I always say "an L" I know english why the hell can't I say "A L" A L sounds wierd though...

Anyway.. to elaborate... buying "A L" would also keep insureance costs down (which unfortunatly you will need)

Ask K2 for a job! unless your a paid intern... then thats cool...

 
i'm an unpaid intern, hahaa. I jsut get a buttload of free K2 crap at the end (like, a lot)

I don't want to get an L. Yes, insurance will be down. But that was way too much work to get it where I had it, which was basically a stock RS minus the motor, LSD, and sunroof. It costs too much money and the parts are just too hard to find.

I'd like to find a car that is mostly stock, but already has struts/springs (or coilovers). Actually, thats all I'd really want. Lots will have intake/exhaust and other crap, but all I really care about is suspension, cause then I don't have to deal with it.

It's an '01, 70,000 miles, sunroof, 5 speed, carbon fiber dash kit, am gauges, leather, a really fucking clean car, but it definitley needs new tires.

Shit I just read about the car again... 70K miles and they want 15K? they're nuts! My car only had 35K! Makes it alittle bit easier to swallow.

no, nasioc is down all day today, there was a note thing on the site from Nick, they're doing maintenance stuff today.

Yeah, dealerships are pretty retarded, but you can also talk them down a TON.

That OBS with the WRX swap WOULD be fricking amazing. $9000 for a GC-body wagon with a fucking stage 4 WRX motor putting out 350hp.... that thing must be scary to drive. But it worries me that so much has been done to it (WRX interior?! that can't fit very good in there, its probably all jimmy-rigged in). Somebody PM'd me and said it was kind of a sketchy car, aparently the hood flew up once and put a big dent on the roof above the windshield.

Yeah, I paid $12k for MY car back in 2000, it was a 98 with 24k miles.

I think my main reasoning for wanting a WRX is the interior. Its SOOO much better than pre-2002. The 02-03 RS's have the same interior though, and are a bit cheaper, but it would be really cool to enter the realm of the turbocharged engine. But insurance would be higher too. So I don't know.

I think if I had as much money as I wanted, I would get a white 02 WRX sedan. Everyone in my family has white cars, Kevin has a white car, last thing I want is a white car. I HATE white cars. BUT, Impreza's look sooo fucking sexy in white, its the only car I like in white and I like it a LOT. Especially the bug-eyes.

But, realistically, my best bet would probably be a 99-01 RS. I loved black, but I don't want another black car (sick of scratches and swirl marks).

thats not to say a WRX is unrealistic, my parents seem to really be into me getting a WRX. Their whole reasoning is they'd rather loan me more money now so I can get a car that will last me longer, and also already be a nice car that I won't have to do any mods too, so I can focus my time on the buggy (and school)

Definitley stay the hell away from the '02 & up RS's

same power as the old ones but they weigh about 500 pounds more.

Wow.... I just went through and read this entire thread. (bored at work)

What a trip down memory lane.

Its very cool though, because its almost like a journal of my modifications to my baby. Rowen started it JUST as I was first buying things for my car.

I sure have grown up in 3 years too, reading some of my posts from the beginning, I sound like such a retard.

All in all, I would say I did a pretty good job on that car, it went from a pretty lame car, to a really awesome car that looked fantastic and drove great! I can't wait to get going on my next car....

That one company has been puttin in WRX interiors into GC's for a while now... they havn't had any problems as far as I know? It would be worth a second look I think, unless he lives far away.

Insureance should drop a ton once you graduate too... or you could just get married real fast... haha

I know.... but its so nice. Easy for you to say, you've got the nice interior AND performance.

Probably gonna get a 99-01 RS though, its just all around the best car for me. I just have to find one at a good price. Really really want a white one too still.

Sure, theres a few on AutoTrader, but they all have way too many miles, or are at fricking used car lots. I found a great silver on in Portland, good price, low miles, private seller, super super nice car.... BUT A FUCKING AUTOMATIC!!!!!!

Yeah I'll be carless for the next 9 months too, parking at western is a pain in the ass.

BUT, they have busses going to baker, and I have a couple friends who will have a car.
