i photoshopped out the house and tree in the background, so its all just blue sky it looks so cool.

The one I have posted up there^^^ isn't photoshopped at all. It was taken at 10pm, while there was just a HINT of light in the clouds still, and it was an 8 second exposure. Looks like it has stage lighting on it!

sooo, when I get back from france in 3 weeks, its time to start the rebuild on the buggy.... BUT, I am going to start a subaru suspension fund....

my goal is to have new struts (kyb agx) and springs (probably prodrive p1's) by the time tina gets back from france (mid-september).

Yeah I really want to get a new supension setup, but I don't wanna drop down that much money. I think I'll get a swaybar, endlinks and bushings, then save up for the wrx swap, or coilovers...

HAH! just kidding, I'm going to be a poor college student pretty soon, so there goes all my spare cash.

I really want the v6 lip and spats though, how much is a genuine set from the dealership?

 
not sure if you can even get them from the dealership, probably not.

You should be able to get spats from jamie, but they're probably about $120 for a set I think? An authentic v.6 lip would be ungodly, like $600 at least.

You can find a WRX sway bar for like $20. They're cheap and make such a huge difference.

I got a set of 22b vents today for $5. They need a bit if work on them, but shouldn't be too hard. They'll have to wait for 3 weeks, as I'm leaving the country in a few hours!

Yeah hes giving me the bushings/endlinks too. I should pick it up sometime this weekend, if I find the time.

Yeah I can't make it to that.

And the lip? Who knows how much I can get for it, I bought it with a brand new STi tranny mount for 100 bucks... the MSRP of the lip is 180 new... maybe like 75 ish... I think I'll just take the best offer.

The 20mm was standard on all WRXs from 93 until 2003 they went to a 17mm. The stock bar is a 13mm in back.

13?! What the fuck!!! Its a 19 up front. 19 and 13, tell me how that makes sense.

I should say 13mm was stock on non-wrx's (i.e. RS's and L's... brightons had NO rear sway bar)

I can't even believe it... this is the only thing I've done to my car that I can actually FEEL a difference.

The brakelines were good, but this is intense.

I drove all the way to crystal last night... it was like 1 in the morning... I have a feeling I'm going to be using LOTS of gas.

 
please tell me you're not on stock tires? you can't be on the RE92s still....

yeah, performance mods are the best. I did the sway bar first, then swapped over the RS suspension. I've got a front strut tower bar too, but that doesn't do a WHOLE lot on the stock springs (little better turn in, and seems to oversteer a bit when i let off the gas in a corner, i like it!)

Tires will make a HUGE differense though. I have the crappiest performance tires you can get - Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's. They're the cheapest, and supposedly not fantastic, but lots of people still love them. I know I do. It takes a LOT to get them to lose grip (seriously a LOT). After a lot of twisty driving, they heat up and start getting a little mushy, but other than that they're great. They can get a little noisy sometimes too, but when you double the suggested turn speed, any tire is gonna cry.

I really wanna get solid swaybar endlinks too, the stock ones are like rubbery-plastic or something. Aparently solid endlinks make almost as much of a difference as a bigger swaybar!

i have those same kuhmos too. decent tires i was doing an open track with them at pacific raceways last thursday and once they got hot they were very sticky. i love my new suspension though

^^^^ what kind of car do you have? and what suspension setup did you do?

Kuhmos are pretty good in rain, something a lot of summer tires are not good at (like Falken Azenis which are the tires I REALLY want). The kuhmos are a joke in the snow though, but thats obvious. I have a whole other set of wheels for the winter.

haha, yeah, I didn't even know what I was getting until after they got them put on. I just got them because they are supposed to last 60,000 miles.

 
Nice. Yeah, aparently the Kuhmos tend to wear quicker than other tires, but mine are still doing ok. I only drive on them from like March to October, then I switch to my winter tires (will make each set last twice as long)

yeah, mine are just my stock steel wheels (my summer tires are the 99RS wheels I got)

yeah, they're nice. same thing as the 02 and 03 seats, just the tops are different, the side and bottom are the same.

The BEST seats I've ever sat in were EDM WRX seats in Corky's (santa claus) 96 WRX. They are identical in shape to the V.5/6 seats, just all black. Good lord, they fit me like a GLOVE (cause I am the same proportions as a japanese guy - tiny)

But they're a couple thousand dolla

um its a 95 mustang gt. it used to have all stock suspension but now i have all h&r race springs, kyb struts, subframe connectors, c/c plates. thats about it i think. time for more....

nice! do you have the AGX's? That is what I'm going to get (*maybe* by the end of the summer if I can pay off my credit card debt).

I looked at H&R's for my car for a long time, but the drop on the impreza is just way too much for handling. Thinking Prodrive or there was one other. I want somewhere between 1-1.5" drop, nothing major, just stiffer springs with the AGX struts.

I totaled my car today. I'm not hurt, only a few bruises and bumps, had a bad bloody nose, but thats it.

The car is beyond fucked. The engine was split in HALF.

My mom's car was something like $26,000 when she bought it BRAND new from the dealer in 95 (it was a 1996 model, very first year of the Outback).

Blue Book value for it now is $7000.....

thats why it sucks to sell or fucking CRASH a car, its better if you can keep them forever and just drive them into the ground (as opposed to jeep liberty's)

yeah but shit!!! mine is a 94 and i bought it in 03 and it was still 10,000. i guess your subarus don't keep there value very well. i just think its weird that it was cut in half in that short of a time.
