Hmmm... I'm undecided on this. DCA does do what the article says, but I think the reason it hasnt been released to the press is not due to drug companies in a massive conspiracy... Its because there are hundreds of other things out there that are potential 'miracle' cures for cancer as well. To date, all of them have had massive side effects or limited functionality.
The problem with DCA is probably two-fold. One, it probably has various side effects on parts of the brain and other organs, as its a small molocule that can easily slip by membranes. Two, it works by inhibinting an enzyme that inhibits mitrocondrial function.... there wouldn't be an enzyme to inhibit that function unless it was needed for something. Last, DCA probably still wouldnt work on all types of tumors and cancers. Cancers are by no means universal in what can mutate and what can form. Thats why its almost impossible to create a cure-all-cancer drug.
Dont be so hasty to jump to conclusions. There are perfectly good reasons why DCA and many other drugs havent hit the market yet. Besides, if it works so well, why hasnt someone just made the substance (its relatively simple in terms of biological compounds...) and market it themselves?
