Schools turning into jails?

my bad if that was confusing. You were only allowed to leave for the passing periods to get to the next class
 
also do any of you guys have a thing like this?:

If you miss more than 15 minutes of a class, then you are absent from the class and it counts as unexcused. Also if you have 10 or more absences from class (the only absences that dont count are when you are doing school related stuff, so being sick or in the hospital counts) then you fail the class and dont get the credit?
 
I have but the truth is that the education at my school is great. We have some of the best teachers in the state, just the rules and regulations are whack. I've talked to a few of my teachers who dont like it either.

Ever since sandhook some schools are going full retard. I'm proud that my highschool is keeping a level head and not freaking out. Our principal is really cool and I think since we have so much freedom we actually don't do as many crazy things. At our senior meeting he basically said ddon't burn the place down and finish strong. /brag that sucks about your situation though
 
Man the fuck up. Real life is going to be so much harder.....i work 12 hour night shifts, 7:30 to 7:30. Being home before 4 is fucking nothing.

Seriously if you can't handle this.... kill yourself because it only gets harder out there.
 
old school was like that theres no one left there they even had to take out 2 of the grades because not enough kids registered in them

Honestly, you sound like a little bitch. You'll look back in a couple years and realize your admins were probably doing this because you and the rest of your schoolmates are acting like BABY BACK BITCHES.
 
OP my high school had every single rule you just stated + the fence almost 10 years ago. I graduated in 08' and all those policies had been in place for years. We still broke all of those rules and never got in trouble, quit being a little pussy. Its all about being sneaky brotha.
 
traditional english boarding school was too funny, there's so much parent pressure on the school it doesn't know what to do, we had a school cops and a dog section, drugs screening, saturday detentions, sunday morning community payback, 3 drinking offences = expulsion, 2 if spirits, expulsion for any recreational drugs legal or not, chapel three times a week, smoking fines which doubled after each offence, expulsion for repeated smoking, sex=expulsion (coeducational lol), compulsory sport 3 days a week, cutting sport sunday morning community work, i could go on.... only just survived, was on final warning for drinking twice /claim, i knew the headmaster very well needless to say
 
At my college if youre absent more than 4 classes your grade drops a letter(A turns to B). If you're late 4 times you lose half a letter grade....This is for every class including most lectures. Doesn't make sense to me

my dad grew up in brockton mass...

they actually have jail holding cells in their highschool.
 
My school was a closed campus, free periods you had to be in study hall, you weren't allowed to your cars, all outside doors were locked except for one...sounds like school dude.
 
I feel like there are no real problems here. They expect you to be on time for class and they stay once you are there? They don't want kids wandering in and out throughout the day? They weren't happy when the sr prank involved publicly complaining about staff? They don't want student athletes, who represent the school, to be using drugs and acting like idiots?

Brutal.

I got on the bus for school at 7:20, was in school from 8:30-3:20 and got off the bus at 4:30.

I'm a social worker now and work with youth. I check their Facebook pages all the time. If you lie to me and say you don't use drugs and your profile picture is you holding a bag of weed and a glass pipe, well, we are going to have issues.

Teenagers, for the most part, are idiots. You are not as smart and sneaky as you think you are.
 
high school in northern NH = nobody gives shits. i can't imagine going to a school like some of those described in here
 
THIS. I was a dumbass my sophomore year and failed my AP english class, so i had to take summer school. There was one teacher for about 5 different classes that were all online. You could leave whenever you wanted for the day, but you had to show up at least 3 days a week and be done with the class in 2 months to get credit. I finished in 3 weeks, along with almost everyone else, and got a C on my transcript. It took me 4 months to fail but 3 short weeks to finish. Really made me realise how dumb the current system is.
 
Your school is very lenient compared to mine. We start at 7:30, all of our off periods are silent study halls, and anyone who does a senior prank can't walk at graduation.
 
Everybody makes that threat. Most people don't actually deliver. What fun is a prank if you're allowed to do it?

Grow some fucking balls. Besides walking in graduation doesn't really seem that cool. He;; I didn't even go to my graduation. Got my diploma in the mail.
